How can I fit more protein into my diet when I don't like mu

I eat chicken & fish now & again. I don't eat much dairy as if I eat over a certain amount I get stomach cramps & too many trips to the toilet (I should really get it checked out but I'm too lazy :P).

I'm a work out beginner, (as early as 3 days ago). I can't lose weight (as I'm very underweight), need to gain some muscle!

  • Do you like beans or lentils? :]

I even have some omega pasta that has 10g of protein per serving!

Yogurt and especially Greek yogurt, too. All of the above :) To build muscle you need to work your muscles and make sure you're eating ALL of your recommended calories to gain weight! Happy working out and eating :)

There are some nice recipes on line for vegetarians that may help and also Indian recipes are often high in protein and flavor, with little or no meat. I think Whole Foods have recipes on their website, most grocery stores do.

Have you thought of chickpeas and garbanzo beans?

    Delish and high in protein.

I've found couscous is a great replacement for rice and sometimes pasta, and it has a higher protein content at around 15g per 100g.
    Also, greek yogurt, eggs, nuts...

If you're still way under have you tried a protein shake. There are several decent brands that taste nice and are low in cals/fat/carbs. I use Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey.

    I love couscous!
I was prescribed protein shakes over a year however I used to waste them. They tasted like blood, I stank like a cannibal >.<

Protein bars. Compare bars and watch out for calories and sugar. I like Detour brand, lower sugar; 15g protein, 170 cal, 1g sugar. Also, for a few more calories, Pure Protein, 1.76oz bar; 20g protein, 200 cal, 3g sugar.
  • Soya milk! Delicious, low cal (Alpro Light has 44cal/200 ml) and packed with protein. Then there's tofu, nuts, beans ... I'm vegan so I have to be very conscious of my protein intake. :)

lol some shakes are vile so I see what you mean! I've tasted a few different ones but I would definately recommend Optimum Nutrition. They've been given brand of the year 2011, and I think they've won some award 5 years running. The chocolate flavours are the nicest.

Also, as someone else said, protein bars are good. I don't know where your from but if it's the UK they have some nice ones in Holland & Barratts, and Boots. H&B also regularly have offers on such as buy on get one half price, so if you like a certain one, it would be financially better to buy in bulk.
