My girl friend is a spinner and she says that she bust out about 1000 calories in a day when she would double her classes (30 minute classes). She is about 5'6, 140lbs, so your hrm sound likes its on track....great workout, I here, I just prefer to bike outside for some reason....

If I had a BPM of 170 I would probably burn close to 600 cals for 45 minutes. The more you weigh, the more you burn. I am 143lbs so 800 cals sounds about right for your weight :)
Great workout btw! I love spinning but haven't been in so long, need to pick it up again :)
  • There is a lady at my workplace who is a spin instructor. I'd double check with her, but she started vacation yesterday : ( However I've heard her highly recommend spinning. She says you can burn a ton of calories, AND she's super skinny. On another related subject, ever notice how the spinners come into the gym for workout? I can always tell who they are. Those folks are super charged.

    By my calculations you burnt about 522cals. I use the C=(0.4472 X HR - 0.05741 X W + 0.074 X A - 20.4022) X T /4.184 hope this helps
