Ok MFP, I know I am going to get my butt kicked for even asking this, but I need advice, and where better to get it than here Right?
I have not been so good on my eating lately, I was just really struggling with motivation, I have had college finals, Getting ready to go back to work, kids all over the place, just a mess, not an excuse I know, but darn it if it does not throw me off sometimes, I have only gained a pound since I lost my motivation this week, but I am back to it now!
My question, and please do not call this some kind of juice diet, I am still eating, but I want to really crack down on myself here, I want to retrain myself again to just eat healthy and smart.. do you think it would be wise and HEALTHY to kind of do a V8 diet... I will eat my regualr good health high protein/fiber breakfast, and for lunch some veggies or a salad with some V8 fruit or /low sodium veggie juice and for snacks more fruit or another V8 drink of my choice depending on sweet or savory cravings, and for dinner eat a light something with more fruit or LS veggie V8? Basically I want to just cut the CRAP!!! I want to get crap food out of my vocabulary, out of mind, out of my body, I want to be really restircitive with my calories while still eating the right amount of calories... s.ooooo basically this becomes a partial juice/food diet until I can become accountable again where I will wean off so much liquid conten... of course I will still contrinue to drink my 12 glasses of water a day that I do anyways )love love love) water!!!
Thanks for any advice, and or butt kickin's lol

Hmm, I totally understand how you are feeling. Sounds like you want a natural cleansing week, right? I've personally never been a fan of V8 diets because the sodium is so high and in juices, there is so much sugar! So, what I did the last time I really felt weighed down like that was a raw diet (or mostly raw diet, at least) and I got that same clean, light, healthy boost with more nutrients and less sodium/sugar. Do you think subbing celery sticks, carrots, cucumbers, salad, kale, etc would be doable compared to just juice or V8?
(Again, just my personal opinion, not a doc.)0 -
I understand completely. However, you may fall hard and end up sabotoging (sp?) your efforts on this type of diet. Of course, everybody is different but, I personally feel my best when I focus on cutting my sugar and load up on veggies, & lean protein. You'll feel fuller and more satisfied and you'll be able to maintain this type of eating. Focus on "Whole Foods" cut out anything processed. I wish you all the best!0

Well as long as you're continuing to get the proper nutrition, which it sounds like you are, then I think you should be fine. V8 juice is DEFINITELY a HUGE part of my diet and I've seen great results with it.0

I love veggies and fruit, my main problem is I can not keep them in the house, I have four kids a husband and my brother who all ive with me and they will eat it all before I ahve a chance, I can not afford to buy mass quanities of this stuff every week, one income in the house for a lot of people, I bought the low sodium kind which is good for you, my doctor told me drinking the low sodium kind will not hurt me at all, in fact I never go over in my sodium allowance, so not worried to much about that part, as for the sugar, I will only be drinking small amounts of the fruit V8 so to control my sugar intake, I agree that fresh is best, man I wish I could maintian as much fresh fruit and veggies it would take to keep in the house for all of us to eat it regularly, but darn it I just can not do it, I was hoping that being they will not drink it I could and still get some of the benefits, I of course will still eat fresh foods, but not as much bnecasue I just can not keep up with the cost and the amount needed..
As for the first responder, yes I want to feel clean and healthy inside and out, and right now I just feel yuck becasue of all of the slacking I have done lately... I want it out of my body!!! lol
Thanks for the help guys, I will try and figure it out... I just hate feeling like this0
