I am doing the prep work for jogging 1,000 miles in 2012. I figure 20 miles a week is doable. anyone else want to join in the challenge?

Wow, what a fantastic feat that would be. I'm only on week 3 of Couch to 5k so I don't know if I can commit to that...but how amazing I would feel :)

Wonderful idea, I hope you find success in yourself!

    BUMP!

I just ran my first half marathon on Sunday and I'm really sore but can't wait to do it again! I think I want to rise to this challenge!

ruels will be pretty simple, there are none... just keep track of your miles weekly, I am not setting up any charts or anything, that would require too much time and effort. Only reward is saying I RAN A THOUSAND MILES IN 2012... and thats pretty awesome sounding.

I only run about 3 times in a fortnight. Anywhere from 3-5km, based on running 3km each time, I'd only get to 234k's... which is only 146miles... so alas, I don't think I'll be able to do it, but I will certainly try.

I would love to join only I can't run. Does walking count?

I would say walking can count, but only if you are strictly doing it for exercise purposes. I would imagine most people walk great distances over a year without even knowing it.
