MEN: Do You Notice Hair Cuts/Styles?

I rarely waste time doing anything to my hair than brushing and blow-drying it. Also, I have kind of a weird three-tiered haircut right now as a result of two sets of bangs growing out.

Admittedly, I suck at hair and have zero desire to improve.

I know how women feel about this but what about you guys?

Should I just get a simple haircut to even it all out or would you even notice? lol

:drinker:

My ex-girlfriends trained me well. I can spot cuts and styles.

While maintaining my man card. Totally. /bicep_flex

I know I notice when a female does her hair.. I'd say go ahead and do something with it :). I know layers are always nice in my opinion and some highlights.

Does that mean you actually care? Or do you just retain enough so as to avoid an emotional-narcissistic-girlfriend moment by picking out a few things to say? lol (not rhetorical)

They do but they don't realise. I have a friend who has really long shiny blonde hair. She's tall but she's a bit of a pair shape and wears a bit too much make-up. But her hair is so shiny and long, so it catches the boys attention. Really though as long as it's long males will like it. I know I'm not a male but I my hair is halfway down my back and based on the feedback I get it is a favoured style by males.

I notice a smile first...other than that, hair doesn't really matter.

Simple is best, focus on what's important in life and how your hair looks is WAY down on the list.

Maybe I'm just clueless when it comes to noticing things on other people. I've been with women who point out other women who are braless and I had no clue until they said it..guess I'm just more focused on the whole person instead of the details.

If a ladys hair is hanging straight and flat with an unwashed look that is noticed.
Other then that it is a matter of how it fits an overall look of attractiveness.
The exact cut or style isn`t thought about.

I make a point to notice (I worked with 90% females in my last job). They appreciated it.

does it matter? as long as it's clean and doesn't glow in the dark!

I notice but does it bother me? no nor would I judge you on your hair.

I either shave my head, grow it out or go mohawk...I don't like wasting too much time on hair so I would not care if woman felt the same.

Guys DO notice. My mom has very long, thick, wavy blonde hair and men 20+ years younger will chase her ^^

Lately, I have taken better care of my hair (and nails) and guys have been regularly complimenting my hair and nails...
    ^^

ps: I am wondering if this is a bad thing...I was thinking, before I started doing my hair and nails, guys would say, "You are so pretty/beautiful/cute" but now they just say stuff like, "Your hair is so pretty!" o_o

I think if a man does not notice consciously he certainly will do on a subconscious level.

The way you style your hair is a human version of "peacocking" (no s******ing at the back please...) It sends signals about our sexual availability and attitudes. I don't think it is any surprise that certain cultures and religions have a preference for head coverings for women specifically to show piety.

This is a long version of saying get a sexified hairstyle...

My BF is better at noticing women's hair than I am. He prefers my hair when i have made it look good and just after a cut - that saying i don't have enough time in the day till the weekends to do my hair!! And if your not bothered by your hair then leave it (obviously wash it) I don't think that its the main focus of attraction between men and women.

I do. I notice it on both. I find girls with cute/attractive styles. I find medium to long styles more appealing than short. And on guys I notice the short styles. It's what I like for myself. I don't like to spend too much time fussing with my hair much so short makes it simply and easy to maintain.

I consider myself a hair person. Some guys its boobs or legs, with me ... If I don't like your hair you've got zero chance.

A woman's hair should long enough to put in a pony tail her whole life. That is a minimum. Long hair helps define a woman as a woman. If you want to pull of short hair you better have a super feminine looking face. Best example - Josie Bisset

Timeless look that can't be beat - Nina Dobrev.

Hair can look amazing all one colour or with highlights. Discalimer - brown hair with lighter brown highlights can look like a dirty mouse if you're not careful.

Straight or curly hair can both be beautiful but somewhere in between just doesn't work. Commit to one or the other.

Final thought being no matter what you weigh or how much you're sweating yourself over it, a little attention to detail goes a LONG way and guys DO notice.

Thank you for all of the tips! I have been curling my wavy hair recently, but wasn't sure if it was worth it ^^ I feel happy now~I will continue to grow my hair :D

Do you have naturally curly hair? Can you just go to bed with wet hair and wake up with nice curls or is it a long drawn out process to make it curly? Would it be less work to straighten it if you went that route?

Awesome. I just knew I would get great input from you all.

And, in retrospect, my wording was a bit exclusionary of the women. I did NOT mean it to be and I'm really glad you all weighed in. Thank you! :-*

That settles it. I need to get a decent haircut and unpack my straightener.

    xoxo

Well, any of you ladies are more than welcome to have some of my natural curls-from-hell curly hair... unfortunately in my line of work as a Chef, It gets too damn hot as it is. Add long hair that is restrained for a minimum 10 hour-shift, its worse... I chopped off almost 14 inches and donated to "Locks of Love"....

Ive never had anyone, not even my own husband notice, and to be blunt, I really dont give a s***. I believe the main thing here is, do what makes YOU feel good about yourself. If you want to indulge a day of beauty at the salon to do your hair, get that scalp massage-treatment, a spa mani/pedi, GO FOR IT! I think people tend to get so involved in other things that we easily put off doing things for ourselves in the process.
