Question for swimmers

How do you gauge "effort" when entering swimming on your exercise log? Unlike running or walking there is no speed assigned to the various levels. I swim about 2.5km (which I think is roughly 1.5 miles) in 45-50 minutes and usually enter it as light effort.

I would periodically check my heart rate to make sure I was in whatever zone(fat burning, aerobic, etc.) I was aiming for. There may be a chart you can google, there just happened to be one on the wall where I swim.0

I'm not sure if this will help, but it has a bunch of different swimming strokes and speeds to help you calculate your burn.

If you were as bad as me at swimming you'd get huge burns for a very moderate pace.0
