I made the first step: I purchased it!

Now...I'm 36, 5'6 and 265-270 with a max athletic level of walking 30-50 minutes on the treadmill at the rate of 2.8MPH, 1.5 incline.

Am I really ready for this? Has anyone of my size and fitness level done it with success? Pics please!

Am 42, 5' 4". I was 208 pounds when I first started the 30 DS three months ago. I could barely complete the first day. I realized that I was too over weight and too out of shape. In addition, I have knee problems. So I stopped the 30 DS and just used my treadmill. I wasn't very fast on the treadmill initially either, but I keep at it. I can now workout on my treadmill on 8% incline at 4.0 MPH for 80-90 minutes each time. So I gave 30 DS another try six days ago and what a diffrence. While it's still hard, I am able to manage and plan to complete the entire 30 days no matter what. I think you should try it and see where you are at. If it's too hard, you can modify it. If you can't do it now, then give it a couple of months and come back to it. Good luck on your weight loss journey :)

I tried it the first time at around 280... killed me.. couldnt even finish 1 level. But I know others that did just fine. Good luck! My advice is to just TRY it.. if you can finish level 1 on your first day, you're ready! And if you cant... do whatever you can do. :)

Your best bet would be to just try. They have modifications for some of the moves and you can always do just whatever you can and work up to doing it all. Good luck! :)

I am 52 and I weigh 212 I have did level 1 and 2, just modify it where you have to . I do push ups up against the wall, I dont come all the way off the floor when I do jump rope . { I also had knee surgery a year or so ago }. Just try it take it slow modify to where you can . do level 1 longer if you have to, The planks were crazy to do even modified at first ,but I have did 3 days level 2 and its much easier now. any video tells you to check with your DR though, do I ? no hope it works for you its a great work out

I'm just done level 1, day 3 - I find that my ability is really variable depending on the exercise - on the cardio I can follow Natalie, but on the abs work I struggle to get my shoulders off the floor (although I can feel it's improving). I'd say have a go, see how you do, follow Anita and don't worry if you can't do all of it as something is better than nothing!

Take it slow, follow the 'beginners side of the workout'. If you can only make it through halfway, and HAVE to stop, then stop. But realize you will build strength and endurance with repition, but try to get as far as you can without hurting yourself. Its a 20 min workout + 5 min of warmup/cooldown. I am 5'9", 153lbs, and its still a good workout for me. Just do as much as you can, and you will build up your strength to do more.
  • Thanks All!

I'm going to Houston this weekend so my plan is to view the DVD before I leave and begin next Sunday. I'll post back to let you know how it goes. Thanks for the great info :)
