Love hummus! Here is a good recipe I have used. I leave out the cayenne though. There are quite a few recipes online.

Just find a recipe that sounds good to you and add tahini :) most of them call for it....personally I prefer it without.

I have recipes, but I can never get it to come out as good as store bought. I have given up trying.

    Best wishes to you.

I make my own hummus often, I just google recipes. The trick is you have to use baking soda to get the skin off the chickpeas when soaking them overnight. Use a recipe that calls for that. Unless you're using canned chickpeas then I don't know I've never done that as I always soak my own. It turns out sooooo good you'll never buy it again.

Here's the recipe I got from my sister. It's pretty standard... I haven't started experimenting with it yet. :)

1 larger size can of chick peas (not the skinny can, more than 300 ml
    I think... 475ml?)
1/2 lemon juice (or more, depending what you like)
1 tablespoon olive oil (this amount varies)
    2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 1/2 tablespoons of tahini or to taste
moderately crushed garlic to taste (*at least* 2 cloves)

Basically, I just take all ingredients and toss them into the food
processor then let 'er rip with the blade attachment on. If it's too
dry, I add more olive oil. You can also add a little of the juice out
of the chick pea can. Sometimes I'll put in more sesame oil but it has
a strong flavour so I wouldn't over do it.

Oh, and sometimes I throw in a little cumin, depends if you like it.

I love hummus! Thanks for the site too. I am 100% vegan, but I seem to have always been into more vegies than meat, so I am always looking for different recipeis.
