Hi, I really need help on this one. For years, as a high school student i had a major eatting disorder. So it's never been uncommon for me to use unsafe methiods of intense workout, vomiting and laxitives. Even though i was really small, i never felt thin. It was only when i stumbled into a relationship with one of my exs, that i became comfortable and got fat. It didnt help that, i also started college that year. Freshmen 15 was a joke, try freshmen 40.... i never noticed until one of my friends called me fat and insisted on calling me fat for a few months straight.... I now weigh more than i have my entire life, 179..... and i am only 5'3.... yeah, thats bad. you could roll me down a hallway! lol anyhow, ive been deiting on and off, the unhealthy way, except, now i cant stick to it..... and i dont want to. I dont ever want to feel that sickly again, so this is my final chance to fix my metabolism, kill my up down weight pattern, and be small without passing out involved.... please support me on this. I am not good with this stuff, and get EXSTREMELY crazy when i look down and see what a fat blog i have become..... i dont want to be sick. so please help me, and i will gladly help you!

The first thing you can do to help yourself is get new friends that will support you and not "insist on calling you fat."
Good luck to you!0 -
You are so not fat. I am fat. Just start jogging, treadmill-ing or something. Watch your calories....smartly and fight that eating disorder from coming back. If I can do this, you can too!0

Good luck Britt... remember to set REALISTIC goals as you go so you don't set yourself up for failure right away... Take one day at a time! Add me if you would like. Stay strong!0

I am glad you are recognizing you have a problem but I don't think just MFP should be your place to turn to. While we all will gladly help you and encourage you it sounds like you might need to talk to someone about how to properly deal with you body image, emotional issues and your relationship with food. I don't mean to discourage you in any way, you have made a great step being honest about it, I just don't want to see you get to goal and still not know how to properly deal with these issues. You sound like a such a sweet person and I really hope you can overcome these things in your life. If you need a friend you can add me. I will do all I can to help you. I have had multiple friends in your shoes and with severe eating disorders and it is a scary thing so I am just worried about ya! Best of luck to you!0

Good luck! I know a few people in similar situations so I know what you're going through. It can be hard to avoid getting back into that cycle, so I would suggest finding some people to support you along the way. My only advice would be to use the automated goal setting on here and try to make sure that you don't have fewer than minimum recommended calorie intake (1200). Oh, and probably avoid hanging out with the people that are going to bring you down. You don't need friends like that.
Feel free to add me if you want to talk/vent at any point, or if you just want someone to talk to. If you feel like your body image is something that you're struggling with to an extent that won't make exercising/losing weight possible in a healthy fashion, then I am definitely with jbeauchamp1 in suggesting that you consider talking through your issues with someone; professional or not.
Again, good luck! We're all rooting for you.0 -
