    I measure at about the middle of my pelvis, my widest part. :(

    Widest spot, which ends up being just above the joint (at least, for me)

    More importantly is to measure at the same place each time so you can see the progress.

    i take 2 hip measurements. One just under the bulge (small roll I guess) under my bellybutton and then i take one around my saddlebags which is the widest part of my body
