I am a book reader when I am working on the Tred or the Bike. It is a way to enjoy a book and working out all at the same time!!

Right now I am reading:
Murder By The Dozen - fantastic murder mystery that involves cupcakes! It is the third in a series of reading! But so far it is a fantastic read!

So what do you read?

    Stephen King

I actually own ONE book of his and I fell asleep while reading it. That is so bad! I have never done something like that before! He just put me to sleep :( What would you recommend by him? I want to be scared :D
  • It would be cool to read while biking, but I would crash O.O and that is not so good.

How do you manage that? There's no way I could concentrate on reading turning pages while I'm on the treadmill. I can usually barely focus on my phone screen enough and tap it in the right place while running to find out what time it is

If I do low impact cardio, I usually read a magazine or newspaper.

I usually do HIIT during which I'm usually just focusing on not dying.

Next to my recumbent bike is a copy of Snobs by Julian Fellowes about a commoner that marries into British peerage. I'm about 3/4 of the way thru it.

I can't read on my treadmill at all so I watch movies on my iPad when I'm on there.

As for future reads on the recumbent - I'm thinking trashy and easy breezy summer books are best so I don't get too distracted and slow down!

    LOL!

Same here. But when I do do low intensity on the exercise bike, I usually rest my laptop on the handlebars and dictate reports that I have to write (I usually have to spend a couple of hours a night writing them anyway), using a headset and Dragon dictation software. Kills two birds with one stone!

Obviously I do this at home, and not in the gym.

All you have to do is make sure you are at a steady pace, or a pace you can do with out focusing. We have TVs set up at our gym and I figure if I can walk and watch TV I can walk and read a book. But I can also walk and text with out running into everyone LOL. It does take some time getting use to, but soon you will :D

I'm good with a steady pace and can keep minor focus on a TV at a gym (though I'm never actualy engaged in what's on, I have my own entertainment via headphones). Maybe my question should be how fast you're running? Because I'm usually around 6.2-7.2 MPH on a pace day and 5.5-6 MPH on slower day. And really, I'm lucky if I can get a drink of water without first slamming te water bottle into my face much less turning a page and focusing on a book. lol
