My favorites are: frozen strawberries, peanut butter, diet cranberry juice, banana.....then blend
also i have a green smoothie....fresh spinach, spicy low sodium v8 juice, cumin and black pepper.....yummy if you can get past the texture and color
you can put pretty much anything in the blender....just experiment!!!!0 -
Antrying goes, it's all good n healthy. A tip I have is to put some oats or wheat in the smoothie. Go to your local nature food store and they'll have some advice for you., also get the oats from there. Feel free to add me as a friend.0

I start with a base of equal parts frozen fruit and almond milk (or regular milk). Depending on how I feel, I will add any of these: avocado, zuchini, kale, banana
I also will throw in maca powder, wheat grass powder, chia sees and a spoon full of honey.
Sometimes a spoon ful of cocoa powder to make it chocolate.
According to my daughter, my additions are obviously a taste that I have gotten used to - she really thinks they are gross. So for her, the fruit and milk pretty much makes a smoothie!0 -
pre/post workout Chocolate Peanut butter smoothie
chocolate whey powder
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 cup fat free milk
1 banana
4 ice cubes
love it!!0 -
i like to toss in some frozen fruits and greek yogurt...
another good one is banana, pineapple, spinach, avacado, and cantaloupe0 -
1 C 0% plain greek yogurt
Few drops of vanilla extract
Squirt of honey if you want extra sweetness
Any frozen fruits...blueberries, strawberries, mango, peaches, pineapple, berry blends, etc
Half a banana if you want the creaminess
Just enough water to blend
Can you tell I made that up? I eat that almost daily, and its so cheap and easy.0 -

Here's one I came up with. For a change of pace I added 12 almonds and chunk pineapple and eliminated the cocoa powder. Enjoy any way you wish.0 -
Any combinations of fruit EXCEPT blueberries (because these tend to make my smoothies very gelatinous) - usually banana for the bulk, some frozen strawberries, and water. I never use milk, I occasionally add a scoop of Slimfast or a protein shake, and I often add leafy greens.
I'm dying for a good recipe involving pumpkin. I'll have to look that up.0 -
My post workout smoothie:
8 oz of light soy milk
a scoop of flavored protein powder (vanilla or cookies and cream)
a banana if i have one on hand
a cup of frozen fruit (peaches, strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries)
Very refreshing and after drinking I rarely get muscle soreness after my workouts:drinker:
Good luck0 -
my favorite is vanilla yogurt ice cream, frozen strawberries, banana or frozen chocolate yogurt ice cream with banana0
-
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 banana
about 4 or 5 frozen strawberries
4 or 5 ice cubes
6 oz water
Blend and enjoy0 -
vanilla whey
1Tbsp peanut butter
1Tbsp cocoa powder
water or milk (extra cals)
Super yummy!0 -
My favorites always include nonfat greek yogurt, frozen fruit of some kind, almond or soy milk, either chocolate or vanilla whey powder, maybe a little honey or a drizzle of real maple syrup, maybe some cinnamon. A couple of tips, use frozen fruit and not ice if you can, ice just waters down the smoothie and the frozen fruit acts like ice. Always put your liquids in the bottom rather than adding it to the top of all the solids, it will blend better. I am not a big fan of the veggie type smoothie, just don't care for them. Experiment, I am sure you will come up with some yummy combos of your own. Oh yeah, if you ever have left over bananas, peel them and freeze in individual baggies, use them in your smoothies also.0
