keep yourself busy so you don't have time to snack. the less you think about food, the less you'll be tempted by it0

Depends on the reason you snack.
If it's boredom - then keep your hands busy. I'm a boredom snacker so if I do something that involves my hands it's harder to shove stuff into my face lol. I also got out of the mindset that sitting watching TV is great time to eat. And don't keep bad stuff to snack on in the house. Especially open packets.
But if it's cause you are hungry - maybe you need to look at the "substance" of your meals?
Also you don't always need to stop snacking, maybe change what you're snacking on?
I dunno, that my 2 cents0 -
thanks guys! i am definitely a procrastinating-snacker (does that even exist?) i find that whenever i need to go clean or do homework i waste time by snacking instead.0

I have the same problem especially when I'm in the kitchen too much preparing meals and snacks for my kids! I try and chew gum which helps to stop some cravings and binging and/or drink a lot of water when I'm feeling the need to snack or "graze" in my case! I'm an emotional eater so I try and do something else when I'm feeling emotional!!0

keeping yourself busy is great advice...also, keep your favorite snack foods(assuming they are not good for ya) out of the house, ya know, outta sight outta mind...in case your snacking because you feel hungry, drink a glass of water, you may not really be hungry, but rather your body is dehydrated, a glass of water will cure that is a flash...if you really are hungry, you probably should revisit your meals and see if you are lacking certain nutrients, and if your meals are good and balanced and you are still hungry, maybe its due to a higher calorie burn and your body is truely craving more food, in that case try snacking on an apple, some raw carrots, some grapes, raw cauliflower, greek yogurt or some low fat cheese, or you can even chew on a stick of sugar free gum(i just tried extra's mint chocolate chip today, it was delicious) there are lots of healthy snack options that you can consume and not feel guilty about it...hope at least some of this info helps ya!0

I found that if I want a snack I make myself drink a glass of water. Then I try to find something to do because I must be bored. If I drink the water and still want the snack to the point where it is all I can think about I eat it and then make myself get on the treadmill to burn the calories.
Best advice: keep the snacks out of the house. My weakness is chips. I don't keep them here. If i get to where i just have to have some I have to drive to the gas station and I buy a small bag. Usually I don't feel like leaving the house so I talk myself out of the chips.0 -
Eat wholesome filling foods - lots of protein and fiber. Otherwise just... don't... do it! :P0

I personally think snacking is very important. I eat every 3 hours. I bring snacks to work with me and always have something in my purse. It's not the snacking that's getting you, it's what you are snacking on. I bring sliced apples, walnuts, string cheese, Extend Bars. If you are eating foods that satisfy you at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you're more likely to make healthy choices for snacks, too.
Hang in there!
