NEEDING TO VENT

Ahhh!! I am having such horrible cravings. Chocolate, donuts, cinnammon rolls, I mean everything I can find. I want so bad to lose this weight and get to my goal!! Hubby is a former Marine and he has some great workout tips but we have done nothing but argue today about what to do activity wise. He doesn't need to lose weight ( he is 5'10 and weighs 125 lbs) He has been great about doing the workouts with me and helping me but he still eats chips and dips and other things I can't......I know if I eat any of it I won't stop. I know I didn't pack on the pounds over night and I won't lose them over night. I just needed to vent I guess. I'm sitting here watching "The Biggest Loser" on Netflix getting more motivated and eating an apple. YAY!!! lol Thanks for letting me vent!!!

Ugghh! I am the same. If I have just one chip, donut....pretty much anything bad for you, I won't stop eating it. I have absolutely NO self control when it comes to that sort of thing. I have to ban that stuff from the house until I am off the sugar fix. Good Luck! btw...you have adorable babies0

We all need to vent sometimes.....as a matter of fact I just did this the other day!!! LOL Welcome to MFP and good luck on your journey. We are all on this journey together!!!!

good for you for watching the biggest loser and eating an apple. You are doing great, just stick with it and find what works for you everyone is different. And if venting on here helps then go ahead and keep venting0

Congrats on the apple.
If you have a metabolism that is more sensitive to carbs, then every time you eat something high in sugars & carbs, you can get a high followed by a crash in which you crave more carbs. It's a vicious cycle. So if you can just resist that craving and eat only small amounts of carbs, and space them throughout the day so you never get the spike-and-crash, you'll find that those terrible cravings will eventually become less severe and go away. So just hang in there!

Try eating go greens which fills you up and gives you amazing energy. You feel full after and it can stop your cravings. Also, a nathurpath can suggest can plex which clear up the bacteria(fungus) somewhere inside that demands sugar by creating a sugar craving.0

The less sugar and junk you have the less you will crave it! It will become exponentially easier to decline junk food or banish it from your mind each day you go without it. I also recommend finding guilt free desserts/snacks for when it's been forever and you deserve something - I'd check out chocolatecoveredkatie.com ! I personally treat myself with a small, fat free frozen yogurt every week or two. Slipping in small, manageable treats (that still go in your diary!) is my key to never feeling denied and crazy.0

I find that if I can get through 2-3 days of eating pretty well, the insane cravings decrease quite a bit. After a week or two, I'm able to add some of the crap back in, in moderation. Good luck!!0

Slow down, take a deep breath, do some stretches, take a bath or a long hot shower, drink a big glass of room temperature water, and you should feel a bit better0

I know what you mean! I have a container of nutella sitting in my kitchen calling my name. I've been good about having a serving a day to keep my cravings at bay but it takes my whole self to put that container away and not eat the whole thing. A co worker of mine said she defies cravings is by saying to herself " I know what it tastes like, I don't need to eat it to find out, it's just going to keep me from my goal". I look at the calories in it and say " If one servings is 100 calories, and it takes me running a mile to lose 100 calories, is this worth running a mile? no, no it's not"..

I never deny my cravings, I just try to determine if they are from a physical or emotional place. the biggest mistake most people make in the weightloss journey is to deny deny deny... and then the fall of the wagon and eat what they have denied themselves. I decided in this journey to eat whatever I want, just in moderation. I have chocolate nearly every day and eat popcorn with butter at least three times a day. Something is working, as I am down 56 pounds since February. I guess it works for me because I made a promise to myself not to eat more than one of anything a day (for the most part), and I did decide to cut corn syrup out of my diet so it makes it easy to not eat things I don't know what is in it (I know you are saying I am denying myself, but I am not really, as I still eat cookies or chips or whatnot... just not the ones with corn syrup in it). I feel great and I am controlling my food rather than allowing my food to control me... and most importantly I am being who I am in MY journey. It is great your husband wants to help, but maybe ask him to listen to your needs with it all.... funny story: my husband is a thin man with a high metabolism (though not necessarily in shape). He started eating with me as I eat, and started losing weight... finally we realized he needs to eat WAY more calories than I do - so we buy him stuff with corn syrup to snack on so I don't even get tempted... Anyway, just keep up the good work, and remember to do what is right for you and your body - you are the one that has to live in it after all, so best to do right by you!0

That's fantastic that you made the choice to watch the biggest loser and eat an apple. I'm having a similar struggle right now (mine's lasting awhile though). My husband can eat anything under the sun and not gain weight. I, however, seem to gain weight with every single calorie I consume. Lately I have had the WORST sugar cravings. I want ice cream, fro yo, candy, anything that's bad for me all the time. I used to be able to cure my sugar cravings with fruit, but that is not effective at all right now.

The biggest thing you can do right now is get all of the crap out of the house. Tell hubby if he wants to eat crap, he can do it away from you. I went through the grocery stores looking for things that would satisfy the need for crunchy, sweet, whatever but not as bad for you as a bag of Cheetos or a tub of Ben and jerrys. We're to the point now where the hubby and kids don't want that stuff all the time either.0

It's ok to vent! My husband eats candy, chips junk food but I make him keep it out of sight until after I go to bed. I told him that if he wants to help me lose weight that he could eat junk food after I go to bed. It helps being we are on two different sleep schedule. I work 7 to 4:30 and he is retired military and he goes to bed between 2 and 3 am sleeps until 11 am. My son is 5'7" and up to 107 lbs at 29 yrs old and he is always walking as he doesn't drive and living at home again with no transportation. My husband could lose a few more lbs himself.0

Yes yes the love of my life is that small!!! He was able to gain muscle while in basic training but as soon as it was over he went right back to 125. We have been together for 3 years and the most he has ever weighed is 130. I still love him dearly though.0 -
