Hey All,
I'm seriously considering purchasing a heart rate monitor and I have noticed that a lot of people on MFP use them. Can anyone suggest one that I should look into getting?

Thanks,
Carolyn

Polar FT60. I LOVE MINE. It's a bit more fancy and has a lot of neat functions. I hear that the Polar FT7 is also really nice.

I'm also a Polar FT4 fan! Another reason to love it...it's water resistant and I can use it while swimming!

Loving this thread, I am going to purchase a HRM as well. FT4 seems quite popular. I don't need anything super fancy...just something that will accurately track my calories burned during a workout.
  • http://mioglobal.com/energy-pro I have that, and I love it so far! I got it for 35 bucks brand smacking new, so what's not to love, right?

Uh, the price on that link says $120.
  • Yeah. I know. That's what makes the deal I got so great. :-D It was 29.99 plus 5.00 shipping on sellout.woot.com, and I bought one.

I recommend the Timex Ironman Triathlon HRM

A bit pricier than some others but very reliable and has served me well so far for my IM training

No TImex unless you are a male.. SImply because TImex does not allow you to enter gender when setting up the HRM, and will assume you are a male and thus give you the calorie burn of male.. and thats not what you want!

Get a Polar.. Either the FT4 or FT7. I have the FT7 and have had zero problems with it.. it's a fantastic HRM!
