Ok, I have posted before about bursitis in the knee but I am looking for info. I was at the doctor on Monday bc of intense pain in my knee. He believes it to be bursitis but I have not had an MRI. I was put on celebrax and told to keep it elevated, iced and when ice is not on it to keep it braced. The only relief I have had is the three hours after the celebrax. Other than than that I am in pain. On a scale o 1-10 I am easily a 7 sometimes an 8. It has now been 4 days and I would think the inflammation would be subsiding but it is not. Any thoughts? Miserable here and want to get back to my running and life. I really am tired of the pain!

OMG! I had this once before. It was the most pain I have ever been in my life!

The only relief for me came after a while of keeping it elevated and not moving on it. Taking advil helped a bit too!
Sorry to hear you're going through the pain! Hope you feel better soon! Give it a bit more time and take it easy!

I've got bursitis in my hips.. So, I pop in an ibuprofen... and GO!
  • Wish it were that easy with it in my knee. Can't go bc my pain level is about an 8 most days. Have an appt with an orthopedic dr tomorrow. Hope it is only bursitis. Yesterday was a good day but this morning I woke up with the pain again!
  • Orthopedic doc believes it to be a meniscus tear and not bursitis. I thought that is what it was at the beginning. Cortisone injection and rest for two weeks. If no improvement then I have an MRI.
