I'm new to this and don't understand why you need to eat exercised calories back? I thought that would've been a good thing....hmm..

Not sure one week is long enough to draw conclusions from. And weight loss isn't linear so it may have been due to other factors also. I am not promoting or negating eating exercise calories, just not sure you can necessarily link the two in such a short time period.

There are a few different topics on this. Using the "search function" look for NET Calories. There are also varied opinions, but i feel the consensus is that you should eat back your exercise cals to bring ur net cals back to 1200 atleast. 1200 is a generalised figure for females. It seems that your body needs those exercised cals to fuel ur body to do that exercise, without it your mind/brain starts to tell your metabolism that you are starving yourself, and your body acts accordingly, hanging onto every little bit of goodness. Doing this for a lil while will get u the weightloss, but it wont be sustained.
have a search n have a read, some of it is very interesting.

I have no idea about exercise calories but common sense says you should be eating more. If you are burning 1000 and eating 1600, your body only gets a net calorie of 600 calories daily ! Nearly everyone should have a minimum of 1200 calories according to MFP (unless your doctor says different)

    Hope that helps.

I've found that if I end up with under 1200 net calories I don't lose weight, even though I'm allowed 1700 calories a day, so I make sure that I eat at the very least enough to get me above 1200 net calories. Last week I averaged about 1400 net calories a day and lost 3 lbs.

The body works in mysterious ways LOL

    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/61706-guide-to-calorie-deficit

Go to the tools section and figure out your BMI:

Generally someone with a BMI over 32 can do a 1000 calorie a day (2 lbs a week) deficit
With a BMI of 30 to 32 a deficit of 750 calories is generally correct (about 1.5 lbs a week)
With a BMI of 28 to 30 a deficit of 500 calories is about right (about 1 lb a week)
With a BMI of 26 to 28 a deficit of about 300 calories is perfect (about 1/2 lb a week)
and below 26... well this is where we get fuzzy. See now you're no longer talking about being overweight, so while it's still ok to have a small deficit, you really should shift your focus more towards muscle building, and reducing fat. This means it is EXTRA important to eat your exercise calories as your body needs to KNOW it's ok to burn fat stores, and the only way it will know is if you keep giving it the calories it needs to not enter the famine response (starvation mode).

This is just a part of it! please read the link above
