Calories burned from strength exercises

I was just wondering why MFP doesn't count the calories burned from doing strength exercises in the daily total? Is it because the cardio calories burn the fat?
I often burn 200 cals (according to the gym machines) and sometimes I could really do with them being put on my daily total
Thanks

I would like to know the same and I also find when logging the exercise I have done in gym the calories burned that mfp have set are not the same as my treadmill/crosstrainer they are alot higher!!!0

it is under Strength Training.
then I log my individual sets in the weight training area.

Oh so you can use those ones then?
I enter the totals in the reps/weights bit and the calories don't show. I was thinking that maybe you can't use those calories because MFP only announces that calories burned from cardio. Seems I've been short changing myself. Oh well, that can't be a bad thing
I'll start adding them myself from now on then.
Thanks guys :flowerforyou:0 -
add them as cardio that way you know where you are!(as long as you get a accurate read!)0

That's good to know happy days0

I use a HRM as I do cardio and weights in every gym session and it was bugging me not knowing the real cals burnt.0

such a good question...cause I add but it doesn't count it as calories just leaves it there to kinda show me what i did...also the same with putting in your cardo I THINK WHAT ITS DOING IS GIVING YOU AN IDEA OF HOW MANY CALORIES YOU SHOULD BE BURNING IN A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME OR CERTAIN MACHINES:)0

I would love to get a HRM but they're so expensive. I keep having to ask myself if I want to know that badly :laugh:0

That would make sense thank you for replying0

I just go to cardio and put strength training in the search thing....then you can log in how many minutes of strength training.
I also got a HRM, a Polar FT 4. So that way I know how many calories I burn for my whole work out, strength and cardio.
I worked legs yesterday and was surprised to see how high my heart rate stayed.0 -

I would make babies with my HRM if I could. My favorite purchase ever. It motivates me to push myself harder. It's a Polar FT4 and I got it on Amazon for $50.0 -

Please stop. I've only just been able to convince myself that I don't want one and now my mouse is hovering over Amazon.com. Aaaaarrrgh :laugh:0
