Celtic Warrior Chick Costumes through the years...

A few years on a similar theme...
I think 2006 was the first year I did the warrior chick thing. I wore this to work at the vet's. I called it "Bravetart." (I forgot I was in costume after a while, and later felt REALLY bad that when a guy had to have his dog euthanized, and I went in the exam room wearing a big old dirk on my belt!)
2009, I did the kilt and sash again, but with a cami instead of the corset-bodice-thing and blouse, more woad, and a red wig.
With the husband, who liked his faux kilt (I just sewed fabric to a pair of denim shorts) so much, I made him a real kilt.
This year, I went a little more Pictish with a hint of Viking, better weapons, a lot of hair extensions, and a lot less fabric. My party was last night, but there will be a LOT more Halloweenin' to do before the year is out.
I didn't get any full length shots last night, since I was too busy DOING shots, but I took these as I was making the costume.
Defending my fortress!
With the husband....
... who boldly went across the street to get ice in his full Viking gear!

One more photo of (some of) the whole gang takin' the party to the streets. It's a wonder the neighbors didn't have us arrested.

Thanks! My brother a the LMFAO guy was just too much fun. He was "shufflin'" out front whenever my SIL had to go outside to have a cigarette, and people kept driving by and honking!
And now, that song is in my BONES and I can't get it out!!!!!!!!0 -
And Fritz was amazed at "all these girls kept yelling 'Woohoo!' at me!"
I kept telling him... Vikings are HOT! I've been lusting after Vikings even before Alexander Skarsgard.0 -
I love these costumes! I might have to snag a few ideas. My husband already has a kilt (we made it together many years ago for him to wear to my senior prom) Wonder where it is...0
