Has anyone tried this? I've read some of the reviews on it and am not sure if its worth trying.. the reviews say you eat too few of calories if you workout while on it but some state that baby food has no extra stuff in it which is good for you. Wanted to see what people on here thought about it :)

I love baby food! Never tried it being an actual diet.. I heard Jennifer Aniston or some other celeb did that,, I cook with baby food too.. I would never do a whole diet of just babyfood cause you would be having to go to the bathroom every hour haha

Might want to check the label as there is extra in some. What's wrong with whole foods?:flowerforyou:

Ignoring that is just sounds like a stupid "diet" and anything that says you eat too little to exercise sounds just a blast and healthy... you could just mash your own bananas and peas and put them in a sippy cup and save a ton of cash...

don't fancy the effect on your intestines doing that sort of diet - the whole point of your bowel is that it needs to exercise the muscles within it to digest food - eat only liquid food (and this goes for juicing diets too) and you face long-term bowel problems.

I tried that in college. It was popular back then. I did one tiny jar of bananas then gave up. Does one jar = "trying" the diet?

It just seems odd and unsustainable. I'm approaching 40 and all about sustainability. BTDT with fads.

EWWWWWWWWW. I don't want to be overweight but I certainly want to enjoy my life while I have it. That includes eating yummy foods and I would guess that baby food isn't yummy.

Stop looking at this as a 'diet' and start looking at it as a lifestyle change. Do you want to eat baby food for the rest of your life? I can guarantee you'd say no. Eat clean, whole foods instead with occasional treats. I'm sorry, maybe I'm being insensitive, but baby food diet seems like the dumbest thing I have ever heard of.

baby food is real food pureed, I know this because I made my own when my baby started eating. For adults this would just be a portion control mechanism and it would be better (and cheeper) just to do reasonable portions for real food. It's good because it doesn't have any additives (at least in the good baby food), but you can do that yourself simply by cooking and then not adding anything. It's just another gimmick.

It's definately a fad, but it's not the worst one out there!

Sidenote, I absolutely love banana baby food, it's like pudding to me, and every once in awhile I go get some. :blushing:

Heh, talk about baby's first diet.

Is it really THAT hard to just make small lifestyle changes and watch your calories?

I'll add the organic stuff from Whole Foods to meals sometimes...like in pasta sauces and stuff, but I wouldn't "live" off of it.

**Side note** If you have reptiles as pets, they LOVE baby food!

What is it about this particular approach that makes it attractive to you? For me (and I'm not considering it - don't know anything about it) the attraction would be not having to cook, but from what I hear baby food gets really expensive...Plus I think the lack of texture in my food would be a turn off after a while.

Oh how I feel for the poor people who are forced to eat a puree diet, knowing they are never going to be able to eat 'real' food again when people are out there choosing to eat this crap!

To be honest, I'm not even sure I'd feed baby food to my baby - I'd rather cook some real food and adjust the consistency!

I wouldn't do this as a "diet" but I often eat the baby food fruit jars as a snack! Banana mango is my favourite!! I really cannot see how anyone could only eat baby food though..

Gotta say, I'm a fan of texture in my food and the thought of choking down nothing but puree does not thrill me. I think it's important to enjoy the food you eat.

oh my god. Im not 90 and toothless yet.

Sorry, but that has no appeal to me. Give me actual food until I can no longer tolerate it.

    Good luck tho.

Let me know if you have any success...
  • I didn't even give my babies jar baby food! I made all their baby food. Why not just eat it before you mash it up?

I personally love the taste of the fruit puree baby food. I like eating them as a snack. I still eat fruit but sometimes baby food is actually a treat for me. I don't eat anything I don't love.

Don't listen to the haters. I've been on the baby food diet for 2 months now and lost 15lbs. It really is the best diet out there. When I go to my friends house for dinner though, they didn't really like me eating out of the tin at the table.
