Me personally - I love it, love it, love it!!!!! It's a day that I get together with all the women in the family and we have a blast - shopping, eating, laughing - CAN'T WAIT!

I wouldn't say I love it...but I've been out there the past couple of years & will be out there again this year. You just can't pass up some of the deals that are out there.

Yes! I love shopping on Black Friday. I go with my 2 best friends and we have so much fun. Last year I sat in line at Target for 6 hours and I think I had more fun talking to the people in line with us than anything else. You meet some of the best people in line at 3 AM. LOL. We actually exchanged shopping lists with the people in line ahead of us and behind us so that we could all be on the lookout for each other and then meet up in the store to make sure everyone got what the wanted/needed. It was great! People call me crazy for waiting in line in for a store to open but the look on my husbands face when he opened the back of our car and saw the flat-screen HDTV I scored for him as birthday/Christmas present was totally worth it. (His birthday is 11/23 so that was his big gift for the two days and then he got other small stuff on each as well.) He was so excited! We also spend Christmas morning opening presents with one of the girls I go shopping with and watching the looks on her 3 kids faces when they open presents makes the mass chaos of Black Friday so worth it.

I've always been afraid of that too so I bought a bag just for black friday shopping to avoid that. I got a messenger bag that is big enough to hold all the ads as well as my wallet and then I keep the bag in front of my body instead of behind me. I also always make sure that it's closed and the adjustable straps are pulled as tight as possible so there isn't any space above the opening. It isn't a 100& foul-proof solution by any means but I can guaruntee it's not worth the time trying to steal my wallet when there are so many others that are more accessable. My job has made me very jaded and much more aware of this type of thing (I work in the credit card fraud department for a bank).
  • Online shopping black friday less crowds filled with impatient people.

I love the Black Friday internet specials. I get the same items without fighting obnoxious crowds, standing in the cold waiting for the stores to open and bad customer service. Plus, I can do it in my pajamas.

I did it once and it was the most frustrating, annoying shopping experience of my life. I got in a shouting match with some chick that cut in front of me in line at the checkout. Hell no will I ever do that again....I'd rather have a root canal.

I usually go, last year my husband went with me and hated it so if I do go this year I am alone for the first time, no hubby, no family, and no friends around. I live in the bay area and people here are kinda rough so i am kinda concerned about safety. Right now I am saying maybe, but once I see the ads I will most likely change my mind and beg my husband to go with

stores like walmart, target, and toys r us . . . do they offer all the items in their ad online for the same price? I checked about 4 years ago and they didn't, has it changed?

    NO!
First, the "doorbusters" are usually crap. Gimmicks to get you in the door and have a VERY high return/fail rate.

Second, my husband is a retail manager of a big box store. Black Friday has ruined thanksgiving for us EVERY DAMN YEAR for the past 11 years. He is always having to try and go to bed for the "night" at like 2pm to be up by midnight to go to the store. STUPID!

Want to save money, shop online ALL YEAR LONG. I HATE this day.. (can ya tell? lol )
  • I would like to try it... But I have heard soo many NO's lol.

Seriously...if that's the case, I'm staying home this year...I froze my ta-tas off last year & am not looking forward to doing that again.

Never gone myself but I'm going to HAVE to go this year to get some of those deals. My little boy is only 4 and lots of inexpensive things no longer work. He wants an ipod, was thinging about getting him the touch because he plays with lots of the apps on my phone. The kid can work an iPad better than I can!

I probably won't go for myself; however, sometimes I make a little extra money on the side as a personal shopper. I usually charge around $50/hour but on Black Friday I could probably up-charge, n'est-ce pas?

  • I went last year for the first time ever. I went with my sister-in-law, it was actually a lot of fun! And I hate crowds and shopping and love sleep lol. We went to a hockey game Thanksgiving night that got over around 10:30, went out to eat, and by then it was midnight and we could start hitting up the stores. We crashed when we got home, and really didn't buy much because neither of us had a lot to spend, but I've been saving up this year so hoping to get all my Christmas shopping done Black Friday!!!

Only JoAnn Fabrics for me. The other craziness isn't worth it. I get up super early, get there half an hour before it opens, chat with the other people in line, get my stuff (flannel for jammies, mostly) and get out. Sometimes I'm home before anyone else wakes up!

Yep Love it!!! I love getting together with my sisters and this year my mom too. I think it's the whole idea of doing it together that I love. My family used to live 8-9 hours away from me.

I've done it once and it was fun. I got several gifts for a pretty good price. I have a very LARGE area of personal space so normally having that many people close to me freaks me out, but it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

This. It's hard to not want to stab someone in the head when it's 4am and a customer says something like, "It's such a shame you have to be at work so early in the morning!"

The corporate greed, and the consumer greed, is just insane and I want no part of it. Especially since it's not even a holiday I celebrate.

    Yes, it's so much fun!

I love to watch people acting silly and score a few things in the process.

I usually meet up with a few girls and then we have breakfast.

This year, we are going camping aterwards. lol...

Yes, it has definitely changed and oftentimes they offer a better deal online with free shipping! Love it!
