Starting 30DS soon, tips?

I started a new physically demanding job three weeks ago now, been putting off starting the 30DS til now because my body has needed time to adjust from a sedentary lifestyle to one including lots of heavy lifting and things.
Now I feel a lot better body wise, and was hoping to start the 30DS soon (maybe even tomor, eek!) as this week I have only 28hours so thought could fit it in and have enough rest before next day of work haha.
Would love to hear any tips from people who have successfully completed the 30DS; any advice is appreciated! I am already aware my body will probably be crying for the next 30days, but dammit i want to look amazing by Christmas, and to lose another half a stone or so if doing 30DS, still working full time hours (other than this week) and making healthier choices.
Thanks in advance

Bump!
I'm starting 30DS soon, too, and would love to see people's comments!0 -
HIIIII!!! i started today actually. was a little intimidated but it was great. I hope you guys really start soon so we can motivate each other.
oh and tips... well I had a little issue with the side lunges so I did squats instead. :ohwell:0 -
1) keep moving (only take breaks if you have to)
2) don't be afraid to modify moves
3) don't assume you can't do an exercise without trying it just because it looks crazy. i didn't want to try plank jacks the first couple of days of Level 2. when i tried them on Day 3, they were actually extremely easy for me.
4) curse at Jillian (it helps)
5) take pictures and measurements before you start each level
6) its best not to look at the scale for the first week or two, most people see a slight gain at first and it discourages them
And most of all: Press Play Every Day0 -
Going alone with mandapanda's #4, in Level 1 she has you do punches in one of the cardio segments. Punch towards the TV and pretend you are punching Jillian. That worked great for me in the beginning. I completely agree to not being afraid to modify some of the moves. As long as you continue moving you'll see results. Lastly maybe put an inspirational quote or picture or something you can look at that will help you push through the tough moments of the routine.0

Agree with all the above but also don't get hung up with only having 30 days to do it. I took 20 days on level 1 before I felt ready to go on to the next level. There's no point proceeding if your body isn't ready. Above all, enjoy it! I'm sure once you've done this one, you'll soon be getting all the other Jillian DVDs. Lol!0

I started 30DS back in 2009 after the birth of my twins. I was losing inches like crazy! Just push yourself, but go slow....don't give up, modify if needed, but don't give up!!! You will be ready for her Ripped in 30 before you know it! :bigsmile:0
