Should I re-enter my starting weight?

I joined around August of last year (I think) with a starting weight of 225. I got down to 205ish, then got back up to 218 over a few month period of no logging and not watching what I was eating. I'm actually really surprised (and happy) I didn't get higher than that. In the past almost-week I've lost 5lbs, so I'm back on track, hopefully for good this time!
Anyway, my question to you is: Should I keep my starting weight at 225 or change it to 218?
On one hand, I really like seeing the higher 12lbs lost in my signature.
On the other, when talking to family, I say I've lost 5lbs, not 12, because I'm counting from Wednesday, not when I started a year ago.
I'm leaning towards not changing it for motivational reasons, but what do you guys think?

My starting weight is my heaviest ever, it won't be changed, it'll always be a reminder of where I let myself go to.... and recovered from0

I'd say keep it as it is. You have lost since that weight, maybe not recently..but either way you have.0

I would leave it at the very start of your journey with myfitnesspal. This gives the whole picture of where you started and the fact that you had a slip and have recovered. That is what this is all about. Training the heart, mind, and stomach to understand food in a different light. We are not perfect and have the support of MFP to help us. I want my journey to be from the beginning to the end with all the bright and low spots. Perhaps I would make a note in your food diary about the set-back and an explanation that I could look back on and remember exactly what place I was in. Congratulations on getting back on the "horse."0

I think you should keep the 225. Granted it is not your most recent weight but you once were there (and I hope you never go back!!!!!) congrats on loosing the lbs!!! Way to go!0

I agree, Leave it. And good job on getting back on the wagon! Its all too easy to just give in and give up. The regain when you stopped tracking is a great lesson. Let it teach you and it is as importaint as the losses.0
