and not lost weight?

Just curious. I haven't hit my one week weigh in yet but I have been doing strength training and cardio so I'm thinking I may not even see the scale move yet

  • I would think that you are doing both you will lose this week. i think it takes a bit for your fat to turn to muscle.

Everyone is different and sometimes you have to play around with calories and exercise to see what works best for you.
One week isn't really enough to know - so regardless of what the scales tell you this week, keep up the good work, you will see results!

No if I've done the right things in terms of diet and exercise I've always lost weight. It can be easy though to under estimate calories and over estimate exercise calories, so be careful.

tons of water and don't forget to take measurements! It's the true sign as the scale can be a liar. Take your measurements and keep up the lifestyle change and it will come off...

I've done it for a week or two and not seen much of a difference. As someone has said before you have to play around with exercise and calorie intake to find something that works for you.

What didn't work for me was not eating any of my calories back. It caused me to not lose any weight what so ever.. it was rather frustrating but once I started eating more calories, I started to lose again.
  • All the time!!!!!!! Its ridiculous!! I am just working out that the more I eat the more weight I loose.. so confusing

Yep, and that's normal. As your body adapts, you'll hit several "plateaus". It'll seem like it's a lost cause; no matter what you do the scale won't budge. But you have to persist. Once you break through those barriers, it'll be much smoother sailing :)

    Good luck!

OH YES!!! it's the story of my life...4months the scale didn't move, I threw them in the bin because I was losing inches and for me it was counter productive....admittedly I have put on muscle but the closer you get to goal your body just gets comfortable....I tried Zigzagging calories, eating my exercise calories, eating less, eating more, eating more protein, mixing up my exercise, you name it I did it! it took for me to do a 12 week challenge...no alcohol, all clean eating (no processed food or junk) and even then I only lost 5kilos....I have learned that plateauing is a big part of the journey though and it takes TIME and lots of it to get to where we want to be.....patience and consistency are the keys....and also 80% food, 20% exercise....it is all about what we put in our mouths that makes the difference! I'm still not at my goal yet BUT we just have to keep trying different things and find what works best for us, we are all programmed very differently....xx
  • its best to take your measurements as we lose inches before lbs. sometimes but either way we are getting smaller! also log your food daily and watch your intake and drink plenty water and just keep at it. and if u should get discouraged take a look at some of your mfp friends success stories w/pics and u will definitely be motivated and know that U 2 CAN DO IT !

Yup. I've been stuck for as long as a month before. But then I had a nice whoosh of weight loss. I'm still averaging 6-7 lbs./month.

Stick with it. It will happen. :)

You should check your settings again. Tweak your percentages (typically MFP automatically sets you with too many carbs, not enough protein, too little sugar, too little fiber, too much sodium) and make sure everything is right, i.e.: if you're on your feet all day at work, you should be on lightly active and you do NOT count anything extra calories-wise unless it's an actual work out.

If you're working out, your net calories at the end of the day should be at LEAST 1200. This means if you eat 1200 calories, then work off 200, your net is now 1000. Eat 200 more calories.
