Congrats on the progress thus far

FYI: losing 12% body weight is not the same as losing 12% body fat. Most likely at least some of the 12% (26 lbs) loss came from lean mass, not just fat.

As an example say you were 35% BF% at 214.6 which would give you lean mass of 139.5 and BF of 75.1, now lets say of the 26 lbs lost 23 were from fat, so you would now be 188.6 with 52.1 lbs of fat, and lean mass of 136.5, which would give you a body fat % of 27.6% (52.1/188.6) which is a loss of body fat of 7.4%.

so if these numbers are correct, you would have lost 12% of your body weight and lowered your BF% by 7.4%.

This may help you feel better what is 7.4% of 35% = 21.1%. So by lowering your body fat% by 7.4% you knocked your BF% down by 21% of what it was. So you can tell people (assuming my numbers are correct, they were just for illustration purposes) that you knocked you BF% down by 21% (7.4/35)

So even though you only lowered the BF% by 7.4%, it is a 21% change in BF%.

So Eric, how do you measure a change in your BF without calipers?

So Eric, how do you measure a change in your BF without calipers?

Hydrostatic weighing or using a Bodpod are the most accurate, followed by calipers as long as performed by an experienced, trained user.
