It cost me a small fortune, so what exactly do I do with it now? *lol*

I use EVOO in place of butter. I also put in on stretch marks AND use it as a hair treatment when my hair is dry.0

Oh woops you said coconut! I use that the same ways as olive oil too!0

I even use avocado oil, is perfect for cooking, making cookies...0

I had bought some coconut oil thinking it was healthy. Come to find out the oils that harden at room temperature are worse for you. Just use it sparingly, I've used it for greasing pans.0

It's really really good for you. I read an article that Tosca Reno wrote in Oxygen magazine last year and she was raving about changes see saw after adding coconut oil to her cooking regimen. Just like any oil, it is high in fat and it even has a type of saturated fat. Don't let that scare you. Just like olive oil and avocados/oil, coconut oil has benefits when eaten in moderation. As for uses: I like to use it for stir frying veggies. Also I like to just add it to my smoothie for richness. For awhile I ate it on toast instead of butter with some cinnamon....it was delicious and tasted like an indulgence.
For those who want to be more informed about coconut oil, I suggest looking up articles on bodybuilding.com about it.0 -
Thanks! Bumping for some more ideas!0

I am in the same boat. I read about melting it and taking it in that form. But I really struggle with taking oil. I think the health benefits would be great if I could figure out how to get it in me. Supposed to be a great detoxification tool for the body. Looking for tips.0

I put a teaspoon in my coffee. It's great for frying and won't oxidize like EVOO at high temps.0

Recently tried it just on a spoon, like one might eat peanut butter. It wasn't too bad...slight sweet and coconutty. Definitely had a mouth feel I wasn't used. It's great for filling up quickly, stopping cravings for refined carbs like bread or sugar, and of course, cooking and skincare.0

Coconut Oil is the healthiest oil on the face of the earth. Medium Chain Saturated Fatty Acids are the healthiest there is to offer.
Don't buy into the low fat hype that was born in the 1950's through Ancel Keys. He was totally wrong and ignored a lot of data to the contrary of what he published and the U.S. bought hook, line and sinker.0 -

You cook with it, eat it, cleanse, shave and moisturize with it.

i've heard really good things about coconut oil and am getting into cooking with it, too. If you haven't already done so, you might want to check out some books by Bruce Fife. He gets into all the various health aspects of coconut oil and just put out a book this year on cooking with coconut flour. I hope to check that one out soon.0

I've heard it's delicious when used to make popcorn - haven't tried it but if anyone does, let us know what you think!0

I use it to make popcorn, and it works great! I like to melt it in the microwave before I add it to the popper, though. I also use it to cook eggs on the stove. I've heard you can use it to replace butter or shortening in recipes. I've not tried that yet, but will definitely do it the next time I bake something.0
