No Gas in the tank at the gym today

So been going hard the last 5 weeks. My routine is cardio 3-4 days a week and weights 2-3 days a week.
typically for weights I have been following the Body for Life workout routine. The last few weeks been doing more upper body. Last Wednesday, I felt burnt on my upper body and also had a small tweak to my shoulder. I decided to take a break from lifting for a week.
I get into the gym today, feeling energetic and as soon as I start lifting. I felt just gassed. My numbers were down (not horribly, but noticeable) and just felt like a major GRIND. I got it done....but felt like my tank was empty.
I'm thinking of taking another week off the upper body, and focus on lower body and cardio.
anyone else experience this empty tank/muscle fatigue...... and have any suggestions? Thanks!

I can't see your diary but I'm guessing your protein is not adequate. 1 gram protein per pound lean muscle is recommended.0

Try eating some quick carbs for energy 30-45 minutes before you go. Fruit, yogurt, even juice is a great pick me up when I'm feeling tired.0

I didn't have it at the gym today either (ive been feeling really fatigued lately) so good job for staying in the first place! it could just be because you've been pushing it for so long...try doing some lighter workouts and see if your body recoups0

Lack of sleep will do that to me without failure.0

I empty my gas tank while running on the treadmill. Can't help it.0
