I agree see your docotor asap!! I'm a runner and ended up with a twisted pelvis (lots of lower back pain ouch) and the physical therapist said all it takes it stepping off a curb or tripping in a pothole, so it really doesnt take a whole lot to injure your back.

If this is the first time that you have had back problems, I would suggest going to the doctor to make sure that you do not have any damage or you didn't fracture something. I have had problems for years and usually have a flare up at least once a year. I can just be grabbing something off of the counter and it hits me. I won't be able to move. I utilize the heating pad and take ibuprofin as well. I also make sure that I rest for a couple of days and then I slowly start moving again. This kind of pain can take a little while to overcome once it happens.

My doctor told me once that swimming is the best exercise to build those muscles in the back up and help eliminate future issues. I am not able to get to the pool but I do suggest that once you feel better, if you do, you might try swimming for awhile.

Good luck. I hope that you feel better soon. Take it easy.
