Polar FT4 HEart rate monitor

what do you mean turn it off? you can just use as a watch after. if you wear the strap and using the HRM...when you are done. hit the bottom left button and will pause it. hit again and it will stop the heart rate and go back to watch mode.

I turned off all the sounds on mine.

Yeah its basically a watch hon you dont turn it off you can choose to use it or store it away but cant turn it off. HOwever I have a FT7 and when I read the manual it states to try and keep the watch and the reciever (or whatever you call it on the chest strap) far from each other because if you have right next to each other it can cause to drain the batterie faster. Not sure if that is true but I separate mine.

You just have to take the transmitter off the chest strap to stop it draining the battery.
