Looking for some Denver friends

Hello fellow MFPers! :drinker:

I just moved to Colorado about two weeks ago from the Midwest. I'm looking for some friends that are from the area, maybe with some tips on places to work out as well as good places to eat. And, of course, things to do.

I'm not looking for a new best friend, just some people who live in the area that I can pick up bits and pieces from.

    Just so no one gets completely creeped out, I'm not specifically looking to make RL friends. Though, wouldn't that be a great bonus?

    At the moment I'm staying with a friend up in the mountains, around the Aspen Park area (about 20 minutes from Red Rocks). But, once I get a job - fingers crossed! - I'm thinking maybe Arvada? Recommendations on that front are appreciated as well. I'm looking for places that are cheaper and less crowded than the city, without being too far removed.
