I just joined MFP today. I started losing weight last new years. I am 5'2" and began at 155lbs, then dropped 21lbs over ~5 months. I could see my stomach getting flatter and saw muscle tone developing. I felt confident wearing a bikini over the summer. I haven't felt that way in years, it was amazing. But, summer also meant two vacations, BBQs, and a lack of motivation to get to the gym. A recipe for a diet disaster! I gained back 9lbs in the past couple months and have lost muscle tone. I'm really disappointed and disgusted with my body. So I'm getting back to losing weight!! I had been using Livestrong + the Livestrong app for iPhone. I loved it, and it's so easy to track everything. But, I've had a lot of people recommend myfitnesspal.com, so I'd like to give it a try!

My goal is to lose 10lbs by Christmas. My body likes to make weight loss painfully slow, so 10lbs in two months seems pretty reasonable to me.

I'm getting married in 2013. My long-term goal is to get back down to 115-120lbs for my wedding day, and have a flat, toned stomach. I want to look hot for the honeymoon! :)

I'm hoping the MFP community is a little more lively than the forums on Livestrong. Over the past year it seems like a lot of people stopped posting, so it got a little boring.

Good luck to all of you on your weight loss journey! :)

My names Holly and welcome :) I also used to use livestrong but then i joined a new gym last March and my trainer had me use this sight to track everything so he could see it also. its pretty much the same and now its all i use. Also there is an app for it :) Anyways, Summer did the same to me....i was losing losing on my way to my goal pretty steady but summer hit and i hit a hiatus....ugh!! But now im back on the wagon :) Changed my diet slowly back to normal, starting to jog again and as soon as i'm fully over this darn cold and back to full strength ill start back up on the weights.
