Newbie from NYC!

I'm 28 years old and have finally hit that late 20s metabolism slump. I managed to pack on 5-10 extra pounds and have been struggling to get them off. I work long hours which means I snack more than I'd like to (or should). So I'm looking for tips to reign in my snacking. Or even for healthier snacks!

I had a similar issue, I live upstate but work in Manhattan so I wasn't going to the gym. Once I got an NYHRC membership and started working out again every morning and was drinking protein shakes for breakfast the urge to snack got a lot easier.0

I eat a LOT of raw veggies. I go through 6-7 red bell peppers, 4 bunches of celery, and sometimes a 2 lb bag of asparagus (blanched) a week. I can't get the taste out of my mouth (not bad, just weird), but the snacking keeps me full without a lot of calories. I also love cheddar or ranch rice cakes for a no sugar/low carb, crunchy savory snack. My trainer snacks on raw broccoli and cauliflower. I don't like it so I don't, but she swears by it.
