WE LOVE OUR BODIES. THAT IS ALL.

I know I don't post much, but in light of all that's been going on here recently, I need to voice my opinion (read: a personal view, attitude, or appraisal [via dictionary.com])

I think it is rediculous, and a little depressing, that when some of us post pictures of certain *body parts* (on our own profiles) that are not *pornographic (writings, pictures, films, etc, designed to stimulate sexual excitement [dictionary.com])* in the least, so many people get offended and complain to the Mods. Nothing about boobs in bras or butts in panties is offensive. The clothing described covers just as much as a bikini that we ARE ALL EXPOSED TO during the summer. It's nothing we haven't seen before. And we can't deny that these body parts exist.

We are on this website to change. Part of that change is becoming comfortable with our bodies. When we post these pictures, it's not to offend, it's to shout "Hey everyone! This is me, and I love me! Finally, I can say that."

Problem is...the mods know all this. They just don't care. They are judge, jury, and executioner.

I completely agree, i would never dreamt of going swimming when i was at my highest weight yet now i am comfortable enough to do it, not to post pics on here yet but when you spend your life hiding under clothes, it is a freeing experience to let it all hang out so to speak.

the only thing i would change is to have an option to pick whether or not you would like stuff like that to show up as you are browsing mfp for the people who check this site at work and could get in trouble for doing so.

but other than that, i think we are all adults and if you don't like what you see on someone's profile, look away or unfriend or whatever.

You couldn't have said it any better. I mean this is a community like facebook you don't have to add ppl who have those pictures just move on.
  • I agree. and the RULES are that you HAVE to be 18 or older to join...so I dont understand the big deal! i mean if the photo is obviously suggestive, then sure, give a warning. but if its just showing off the persons progress and hard work, i don't see a problem

Couldn't agree more! I've always said that about bra and panties. Hello, it's equal to a bikini! Hopefully the mods will get the picture!

I truly hope that someday I am comfortable enough to share these pictures with anyone. I don't feel comfortable in my body yet, and posting even my generic profile pics was hard enough. If I get brave enough to show more, than I have truly met my goal.

We encourage people to post progress pics, and we also agree that it's great that people who previously felt uncomfortable with their bodies now feel good enough to post pictures they would never have shared before.

That being said, we ask that pictures that are shared on the site meet our site guidelines. Here are some additional (although not complete) guidelines:

    - no nudity
    - no underwear, thongs, g-strings, or banana hammocks
    - no excessive cleavage (if you would wear it to work, it’s probably OK)
    - no close-up shots of your cleavage, butt, breasts or crotch in any state of dress

There are plenty of ways to share your progress that meet these guidelines, and we encourage you to do so. But we do ask that any photos that you post meet these rules. We'll be posting more details on the photo rules shortly to help clarify things.

We do ask that any complaints or issues about how the forums are moderated are sent via primate message to one of the mods, Steven, or myself rather than posting them on the forums. This is outlined in the forum rules, and is why I'm locking this topic.
