Hello everyone, I am new to the site. I have been trying to lose weight on and off for so long It is sicking. two years ago I lost 30 pounds and was so happy about it. I was working at a job where I walked around and stood up, so I had no problem taking it off. Now I sit down most of the time and I have gained it back again. I am worried about not fitting into my spring clothes. I have joined the YMCA a few weeks ago but came down with such a bad cold it has kepted me down. I feel better now. It seems all I think about is food. Hopefully this site will keep me on track with exercising.

:flowerforyou: Welcome. I think you can do this. It's much easier with MFP because you have so much support. I wish you much luck.0

Hi Plantlady,
Welcome! I can totally relate to wanting to lose weight and putting it off or having success and then putting it back on. I think that something has to click in your head to really make a change. I know it did for me.
I started my new lifestyle (I refuse to call it a diet because that makes it sound temporary and this HAS to be a new lifestyle to be successful forever), back in September at 270 lbs! I was SO overwhelmed and it seemed like an impossible amount of weight to get off. Now, here I am at 205 lbs (down 65 lbs) just a few months later. I am not near my goal yet but am working towards it steadily and very comfortable. I don't starve, I don't feel crappy, I don't feel weak. I just take it week by week.
Focus on taking care of your body and viewing food as a fuel, so feed your body enough to keep it running but don't overfill the tank. And, you will be surprised at how much food you can actually eat and still lost weight steadily.
And, when it comes to exercise, I can't always get to the gym with my 15 month old son to take care of, but I try to do what I can at home too. Squats, lunges, sit ups, etc. You don't need a gym to get stronger and healthy. Just do what you can, when you can and it will help!
You can do this! If I can lose as much weight as I have, trust me. YOU can!!
Good luck!

Welcome plantlady,I've been here 2 weeks...am still learning how it all works ,but I have lost 7 lbs in those 2 weeks because I have to keep track of everything I eat. I was always losing only to gain it right back....I think I'll keep it off this time. Got along way to go tho. Best of luck to ya!0

Hi dijo
You are so right about keeping track of what you eat. That is how I did two years ago and it really works. I just got way from writing things down. But now having this site might help me. I have high hopes for my sucess.
dijo keep it up.
