So I just FINALLY after so long decided to set some mini goals so that I have something to look forward too in the short term sense.

What are your mini goals and how do they motivate you?!

I have split my weight-loss into 5lb incraments. Each time I lose 5lbs, I get to buy a new piece of Zumba clothing :) Something I would not normally splurge on. Just bought my first jacket last week! Woo!

I made a mini goal a month ago to lose 7lbs for my boyfriends 40th party and lost 11. I now know thats the way to go so I set myself a 2 stone target by christmas I have 17lbs to go and Ive hit it. Then I'll set another for my birthday. I quite like the idea of challenging myself. I am going to be trying really hard this time I know hard work pays off. For once Im enjoying being more healthy :O) Good luck everyone else on your mini goals x

I love the idea of mini-goals! My final goal can look pretty daunting. Thanks for the idea!

    I completly understand.

I was kinda scepticle (sp?) about mini goals in the beginning bcuz I didnt know how I would react to them, would I reach one and get lazy bcuz I reached that lil goal or would it make me happy enough to wanna push for the nxt?! I thought just looking forward to my final goal would push me harder but in fact its kinda started to discourage me a lil bit bcuz like yorus its kinda daunting. Lol.

    Good luck everybody!!

My whole goal is to go back to my healthy weight and fit into my old clothes. Daily I have the obvious goals of completing my food diary and not going over my calories, and I just feel good knowing I've done well. But I've also set goals every 5 lbs or so for a mini reward because I lose motivation fast. For example, I cheated a little bit and already got my first reward, my boyfriend dying my hair  You can see in my signature I also have goals of working out, another thing I lose motivation on. I think mini goals are great and when you're rewarding yourself for something that you already want to do, it makes it easier.

I don't do mini goals. I think they're great for some people but for myself, I just didn't see the point. Seeing my progress on the scale and with how my clothes fit was all the motivation I needed.

I love mini-goals!! They keep me motivated when i all I want to do is sit on my butt and eat chocolate (mmmm...chocolate)

This summer I was a bridesmaid in my friends wedding and as a mini-goal I ordered my dress 3 sizes smaller than my measurements were at the time and then worked my butt off (literally) and by the time the wedding came around in July I had to have the dress taken in! ...Unfortunately I have now gained back most of that weight that leads me to my next mini-goal to fit into a cute Halloween costume. My friend is sewing our costumes for this year and I had her make mine two sizes smaller than I needed, I can ALMOST zip it up!

I have found that if you like the idea of mini-goals it's important to make sure you always have something lined up once one goal is achieved or else you end up crash dieting like I did for the wedding! My next goal after Halloween will be to train my swimming and compete with my University swim team :)
