Hey Everyone!
My name is Stephanie and I'm 22 years old! I'm 5'4 and at my heaviest weight ever, 248, yikes! I gave birth to an amazing little man 11 months ago today, His name is Landen. I recently found out that I am Hypothyroid, which could be why I have had trouble in the past with my weight. I'm here & ready to gain my life back. I'm looking for friends to keep me motivated as well as me keep them motivated, feel free to friend me!

Welcome to MFP! I love this site and am happy to share encouragement, tips, ups AND downs! Just remember one day at a time, we didn't get heavy overnight and losing it isn't going to happen overnight either!! Best of luck!!0

Hey, Stephanie!
Potassium Iodide is great for thyroid support. I had no idea that I had thyroid disease when I started getting heavy. You get Potassium Iodide from iodized salt, and I also add iodine drops (available at health food and whole foods stores) to my drinking water. It's really helped my metabolism. Also, motion. The more you move, the better you'll feel and it forces the thyroid to work. Many small meals during the day will do the same. ALWAYS eat breakfast within an hour of waking up! Don't let the thyroid take over your life as much as it did mine!0 -
aliburstall- That was really helpful! Thank you! Yes, I'm not going to let this take over my life.
And I know that i did not put on all of this weight overnight, It's going to be a journey, but I'm up and ready for the challenge!0 -
