Hi, I'm always running out of ideas on what to make with ground beef. I buy the really low fat and I have some picky eaters. Anyone have any low cal recipes?
Thanks
what do you already make with it?0 -
You could always do hamburger gravy using light mushroom soup, over rice. Filling and shouldn't be that high in calories. You could do hamburger, red beans, and rice.... Not really sure if you have picky eaters what they'll like lol0

I normally make hamburgers, spagetti, meatloaf, etc. with 96/4. Or I used to anyway. I started using 99/1 ground turkey and like it much better. It even has more protein, according to the package label.
For the hamburgers, the taste comes from the spices, and I top with fat free cheddar slices, low sugar ketchup, and mustard. For the spagetti, I use a sauce that is fat free and sugar free called Colavita. You really have to watch the sugar in those canned and jarred sauces. I can send the meatloaf recipe if you want it. I got it from the P90X guide, though, if you have access to that.0 -
Stffed green peppers... I add rotel, frozen corn, whole grain rice, and tomato sauce and you top it with a little but of cheese.0

That would be cool, thanks! Yeah, we were doing turkey for awhile but then had to through so much out cause the recalls. And then after looking at the label the fat and cal were the same in the beef I buy. Plus it was hard to get my husband and son to eat the turkey.0 -

Make spaghetti but use spaghetti squash instead of pasta. Find a good sauce where the numbers aren't too bad.0
