How do I get to that point

So..... I have always wished I was thinned. Even more now that I am a mother of two children. I want the energy to give my kids the best mom they can have. I will go for say a week or two of diet and exercise and see no major change ( of course). I have never got to the point of "wow I like the way I look and all this hard work has paid off" ...... So I guess my question is what are your suggestions for me to get to that point of I don't want to quit and keep going?

I don't know your weight! But you look pretty good in your profile picture. So if I were you I wouldn't worry as much.0

I think you have to think long term. I know how it feels going to the gym for a couple weeks, seeing no results, then seeing no point. I set a goal months in advance. Instead of thinking of your weight loss per month or week, think about it in the next two or three months instead. Also, not expecting any results until then helps when you see results early. Hope this helps.0

I agree with the above comment, but I understand where you're coming from. The only way to get "to that point" is to get with the erxercise program and just do it. That's the only way to really commit. Getting up every day and working out and being consistent is the best way to maintain what you're doing. Then you'll get that energy that you want to keep up with your little sweeties. I know I can't do it without someone to exercise with me, whether it's running with someone or going to a gym where I can be in a class with other people. I KNOW you can do it!0

Ya its not so much a number on the scale but I would like to have more energy, not feel so tired at 7pm.... I just feel very out of shape0 -
You have to truely decide that this is something that you're in for the long term. I'm the same way! But I've found that thru the little excercise I've been doing and watching what I eat now I've lost 3 pounds and can finally start to see a difference! I personally can't do the gym thing.... if I had a friend to always go with I probably could but I can't go by myself (well i suppose won't go is better then can't lol) so I've started trying different types of exercise and that has helped keep me motivated since it's always something new and fun! So I would recommend trying that .... I signed up for Living Social and Groupon and just watch for deals for different classes .... so far I've tried Pole Dancing, Pure Barre, Boot Camp, Belly-dancing and Zumba .... good luck and you took a great first step in joining this site! It is a great motivational tool! Feel free to add me as a friend if you want.0

First off, take the word "diet" out of your vocabulary. What you eat is your diet, no matter what you eat. This HAS to be a slow, lifestyle change. It won't happen overnight. Measure yourself...that's the ONLY thing that has kept me going through what seems like slumps. When I measure and see even a fraction of an inch gone somewhere...it assures me that I'm making progress. The scale will always let me down but the tape measure...it just can't. Make changes to your diet slowly, over time. Don't try to loose it all at once or quickly. You don't have that much to loose so be careful that you're eating ENOUGH calories and not working out too hard. Check out this (and others) video of Jillian Michaels http://youtu.be/8fxu4TGmo2A I enjoy her much better as a speaker, I must say. LOL0

Thanks! And you are so right about the scale.. Im not so into what that number says but I want my clothes to fit better and most importantly, i want energy and to be in shape. I have started to run a few days a week and I have started to do a Jillian Michaels video on the other couple days. Thanks for the info0 -
