I'm a nanny, so that means I am not covered by insurance. I have to go get private insurance.....I applied and was denied for Blue Cross Blue Shield.....wanna know why? Cause I'm TOO fat! Yeah, no $h!t, a$$H0L3$! I'm so FREAKIN pissed! It isn't even funny! The best part? The application asked me what my current weight is and what my weight was a year ago. Did they not see that I have lost over 30lbs?!
Way to kick a girl when she's down. Ba$tards!

I had the same thing happen to me! I am permanently denied unless i'm below 200 lbs. they should totally take into account your weight loss. that is really lame.0

Yeah, it sucks cause since January I have lost closed to 40lbs....I'm 2 lbs away from 40. (I know it says 28 on my counter, that's only tracking since I started using MFP). I cried for a half an hour. I have busted my *kitten* and it feels like for nothing because of that.0

When I applies for life insurance I was at the top of my premium and they didn't take into account that I was 3 months post partum.....I'm sorry that I gave birth and didn't lose the weight in 3 months!!!0

I feel for you hun. I was denied by all the major carriers last year because of my weight. Even the compay that had just paid for a complete physical that proved I was completely healthy. I did get one positive response from an off brand health insurance.....$874 a month! That is as much as my half of the mortgage! Being unemployed, needless to say I am still without health insurance.0

$874 a month?! Are they nuts?! I just can't believe how.....icky insurance companies are. I mean, besides the fact that I'm overweight, I'm perfectly healthy otherwise. I don't smoke, I drink very rarely, I don't do nor have I ever done drugs (same for smoking). I don't have any history of diabetes or heart problems. I can get around just fine, no high blood pressure or cholerstol.....so WTF?!0 -
Thank god for the NHS i say. People may knock it, but at least we have it!0
