Me too right from the first knock on the door!!. This is how I like my horror/thrillers, relate it to something that can happen to me or that I can empathise with and I'm sucked in. I hate films like Paranormal Activity and Don't be Afraid of the Dark - all mouth and no trousers as it were lol0 -
The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick, co-written with novelist Diane Johnson, and starring Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, and Danny Lloyd. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King.0

I found the book much scarier!! although Jack Nicholson did an awesome job0 -
I actually really enjoyed The Ring believe it or not.
but I'm also a big fan of the funny horror films from Raimi like the whole Evil Dead series and of course Drag Me to Hell
Can you call Pitch Black horror? I guess you kind of can. that was great, so sad what they did to that franchise.
But my favorite still has to be The Shining0 -
