I bought new jeans yesterday bc my old pair was incredibly baggy. The new pair fits at the top but the legs are still a little baggier than I'd like. I do have big hips but I thought my legs were fairly even withthe hips. Anyone with the same problem or ideas, where do you get your pants?

Macy's Its the only place that actually fit my lower half. Jeans are so hard to find because I am talk and have a smaller waist and hips/thighs....If those pants still dont fit in all the places, I have to get them taken in...American Rag Jeans or Ariya Jeans from Macy's fit or try looking in sections where they have "curvy pants"..they would fit you better. Hope you find something :)

I can only wear american eagle jeans, i think their sizes run a little big so they fit me in the waist without being baggy in the legs.
  • As they say on "What not to wear" get them tailored. Try to find out if there is someone in your area that will take them in or check at a local dry cleaners. Or take them back. The leggings get really skinny as do jeggins. I have found out that no matter what your size it is an hour plus job to find jeans. Try different sizes and possibly even petite sizes to get close to what you want. We have a great store in town "Discovery Shop" which benefits the American Cancer Society. Often their jeans are $5. At that price you can work with it until you get to the next size. Good luck. It's one of the joys of being a girl. :ohwell:

The leg fit is a matter of preferences. You jsut need to try different brands until the leg fit is what you want.

Oh and American eagle...I think the opposite for me, they seem to run small, but I think its because of how I am shape. I love the style of their jeans so much but they dont fit me so well...But they are still good jeans.

I ran into the same problem when I first started getting smaller, so I started buying my jeans at Rue 21 and they fit great all the way from the hips to the ankles..

You want FIT? you must actually try them on. I HATE shopping and trying clothes on! I bought all my Large clothing over the internet. Now that I'm shrinking I have to try them on <sigh> Did I mention that I HATE that?
I agree with whoever said "curvey" style - those are hot, Girlfriend! And I'm 63 - Curvey is where it's at! My husband loves them and I like it that they fit right!
    good luck.

First of all, I'm fairly cheap when it comes to clothes, I'm usually an Old Navy on sale girl.

For jeans, I generally "invest" in a good pair of Gap $60 jeans. but while I'm losing weight I didn't want to make that kind of investment for an interim pair. I went to Old Navy and after patiently trying ton multiple sizes and styles, found a flattering pair for $19.50. I found that because I have a bit of a belly still, getting ones with stretch" and getting them smaller results in a more flattering fit. If you get jeans without any stretch, and need to accommodate a belly, you will get that bagginess in the groin area which is SO unattractive. I am also very short (5'0") which makes getting a pair all the more difficult. Be patient, try on many styles, get ones with stretch built in.

The ones I ended up in are "Sweetheart" style with stretch. I got them in 10 short (I'm 140 lbs) and they're still a good 3 inches too long, but oh well. The thing with ON is they are cheap, so they're not entirely consistent from item to item, hence the need for patience. You may have to try on 3 different size 10s in the same style to find one that works, AFTER narrowing down what style and actual size seems like it's going to work. Also if you are short, getting the ones labeled "short" will sometimes change more than just the length. I've in the past had to get "regular" ones in the same size because they just fit better in other places than the "short" ones.
  • I love American Eagle, but they run a size smaller on me personally.
For a cheap good fit, I bought a pair of curvy ones from Kmart. I like them and Levi's from Kohls seem to fit really well if you like a higher waist, but not too high. I think the Levi's were 520s or 515s.

It may sound weird, but I have found out how a lot of different brands fit me by shopping at thrift stores. There are usually several brands there and it may take trying on several pairs to find out what works, but it beats driving around to several stores looking for the right fit.

I collect jeans!! LOL.. I have jeans from every stage that my weight has ever entered... I won't get rid of them..

If you want to splurge I LOVE BEBE jeans.. They have super stretchy skinny, boot cut & flare jeans….

If you want to save on some cash try jeans from Kohl’s (Apt 9, Lauren Conrad, Jennifer Lopez’s), old navy, forever21…

These are a few of the places I like to buy stuff at… I try everything on…

I tried on 4 different styles at this store and because I'm tall (5'8) and truly have big hips, it's not just the fat thats layering over, in having an issue. I feel like I need to buy apple bottom jeans but I don't even have a butt, it's literally hips haha. I'll just settle, I guess. Gap jeans arent long enough and kohls its hit or miss on the length. Until I lose the rest if the weight i don't want to spend too much on jeans :/

    Thanks for all the suggestions!
