Soak beans overnight. Brown Turkey/onion and garlic over medium heat until cooked through. Add everything into crockpot together and cook on low all day (6-8 hours) Easy as can be and honestly. it always turns out well.
I have used peeled/diced tomatoes from my garden too and it turned out well. I've also used canned beans - but the problem with those is the sodium content.0 -
This is my favorite, just omit the fatty chips, cheese and sour cream:

Yummy - I love my turkey chili:
Jennie-O ground turkey - 16 oz x2
Jennie-O turkey breakfast sausage - 16 oz
2 cans chili beans
1 can light red kidney beans
small green pepper - cut in small pieces
pickled jalapeno peppers - cut in small pieces
small onion - cut in small pieces
chili powder
cumin powder
28 oz can whole tomatoes
12 oz light beer
Brown all meat with green peppers, onion and pickled jalapeno peppers. Drain any excess fat.
In blender, put whole tomatoes and blend until smooth.
Add blended tomatoes to meat mixture.
Add light beer to mixture.
Add water if too thick for your taste.
Add chili powder.
Add cumin powder.
I add a lot of chili powder and equal amounts of cumin powder. You just add until it suits your taste buds!0 -
I also add some frozen corn, jalapenos, and black olives to the mix!0
