First of all I'm not a metro-sexual dude but I do care about my clothes especially due to the transformation in process. Thus I wanted to get your opinions on Skinny Ties, I have a few already and am looking to use these exclusively.

Here are some examples.

I think they look silly, but I think all ties look silly. So I guess not very helpful.

As far as ties go, I like the skinny tie much better then the traditional tie, or the ultra skinny tie of the 80's.

personally, not a fan. but have seen a few dudes who can pull it off. i think you need to be lean, have the right suit, etc.

I like ties. but I have one question, I thought meterosexual basically meant that you care about your clothes and the way you look, so how can you care about your clothes and the way you look (being meterosexual) and claim that you're not meterosexual (not being meterosexual)? I mean, it's not bad to be meterosexual, at least I don't think it is, that just means you take care of yourself.

I love the skinny ties! Im also a fan of the "beatles" style suits that are coming back in style too, with the fitted leg (not skinny leg, just fitted)

not necessarily true. Many metrosexual guys also do the mani/pedi thing, hair gel/spray, etc. and take longer to get ready than most girls.

the only thing i dont' like is when chubby guys or bigger guys wear skinny ties (i.e. Ross matthews on chelsea lately)

The tie should compliment the body, it makes a thinner man appear broader, and a already big guy look bigger, in an unfortunate way

Love them! But I also love a more traditional tie with a big knot.

My vote: add some skinny ties to your collection, but don't rely on them exclusively.

I think they look good on some people. You have to be a tall, slimmer guy to pull them off.

I hear this loud and clear! Can't forget the man in uniform as well. :) Only guys I'll pass on are the ones wearing wife beaters and have their butts hanging out over loose jeans. Gross.

Believe this guy was one of the first to start things...it does look best on a thinner looking dude with a fitted shirt.

I like skinny ties. I also like bow ties. I work at an all boys high school, and the skinny ties and bow ties are popular with them right now.
  • some guys can pull them off.(i think you probably could)
i mostly like them when its more of a casual night out type of thing.

ah, ok. my fiance says that he's metrosexual but he does none of that stuff. that's where the confusion comes from

I like the skinny ties - especially on fit men. But keep the wider ones. The skinny ones went out of style last time, they'll go out of style again this time, too.
