Ok I am having eating issues today...I could not work out yesterday because was meeting family friends with my parents out of town (also had a splurge day...ate -426 calories after 5 weeks)....today...my mom is at Urgent Care her knee will not take any weight (she has a history of knee issues and she is visiting me from Chicago)...so today there is another possibility of not working out today...with all this going on...I just so want to binge!!!

Brushing my teeth or chewing gum helps me when I feel like that. Good luck.0

May just be all your emotions. I would say don't give in but there are times when just a little here and there is ok. Be careful with your choices and if you think this binging is being brought on by stress or emotion try to find another way around it that doesn't have to do with food. You are strong and can make great choices. The first one is recognizing your "binging state" Take it a snack at a time and don't be too hard on yourself this will only make you stronger for the next time! ~CC0

I make myself "rules" before I let myself down, lol. Are there stairs near you? At work if I want to binge, I make myself walk up and down stairs a few times, then I am too proud of myself to let myself down to eat too much. Or have a book of sexy pictures of guys and imagine meeting them with your mouth full of cake and your tummy full of wind. These may not work for you but I do think strategies help to combat our bad days and reduce them. You just need to work out some that work for you.0

water!! tons of water... or flavor up a drink..? ive been having a hard time lately too0

Think about how hard you worked to lose that 11 pounds. You could end up putting half of that back on with a couple good binge days. At least that's what happens to me. Eating a Reeses isn't going to help your mom any. Focus on what's going on with her instead of thinking about how much you want to eat.0

Take a deep breath. Drink plenty of water to help keep you full, so you CAN'T eat, (however, you most likely will have to pee like a race horse!!)
You missed two days. You are only human, life gets in the way, but maybe tomorrow instead do a little more then what you would normally do. Just to help push yourself.0 -
dont do it its gonna make you feel bad after!! stay strong go for a walk chug lots of water just do something else0

I would go with water. Plenty of it.0

Yes, lots and lots of water--sometimes so much that my stomach is FILLED with it. I also just tell myself--"not right now", maybe later. This helps because sometimes the cravings only last a bit and you just need to give yourself some time to get over the worst of it. That way you're not saying "no" and your inner 5 year old (that's what I call my cravings) isn't throwing a hissy fit and making it worse.
Hope this helps and good luck with all that's going on with you and your family!!0 -
Sorry that you are having a hard day. No, don't binge. But please eat something healthy and nutritious so you will have the strength and energy to help your Mom. Binging will not help the situation or you. Obviously, your mom has weight issues??? So know that YOU do not want to find yourself in the same position as your mom down the road. Make a committement to yourself right NOW. . . TODAY, that you will live a healthy life and handle life's bumps responsibly.
Praying that all goes well for your mom AND you. Take care.0 -
Of course you want to binge. Look at all the stress that is surrounding you right now! Not being able to emotionally handle your circumstance is one of the many causes of binging.
Try doing something like walking, journaling or talking to a friend that is a good listener.
The feeling won't go away, but at least you'll know that you are handling your stress in a healthy way and you'll know you didn't take it out on your body.
Good luck to you friend.
P.S. A little cinammon gum goes a long way.0 -
Are you able to get out of the house and away from food? I don't know where you live but I live in north florida so the fall weather is beautiful now. I went and read outside today and that helps a lot with the binging. Just get away from food if you can.0

We all have these days, and you can take comfort in the fact that we all have to struggle through them. But just because you've had a couple of bad days doesn't mean you've ruined your diet. You only ruin it if you give up just because you've had a couple of bad days.
When I have these days, I do two things:
1) Think about how eating will help the problem. **Note: unless your problem is that you're actually hungry and need food, it won't do anything for you but make you feel worse about yourself.
2) Find something to do that will help. Chauncyrenay has some good ideas. Or, if you have a hobby, like knitting, sewing, woodworking, whatever, pull it out and work on it. Or lose yourself in a book. Or, one thing that's very helpful is meditation, if you want to begin practicing it.
You will not fix anything by eating. Eating is not an answer to any problem except for fueling your body. Bingeing will just make you feel worse, and how does that help?
You can get through it. You're strong enough!0 -
Thank you all for the great support...I am staying out of the kitchen...except I have to dishes...BUT for now my plan of attack is to just
a) not feel GUILTY about my splurge day...can you believe it...this is my first splurge day so yeah it's hard to go over your caloric intake.
b) hopefully exercise when my hubby comes home and I can go while he takes care of my parents and our little one.
c) No emotional eating....INSTEAD I am going to drink lots of water or 0 cal tea...0
