How come it is so high in calorie's? and does anyone have a better bean alternative?

    please do not be concerned with calorie amounts for everything

    black beans are almost a perfect food,,,,they are nutrient dense and thus high quality calories even though a bit high in number

    If you're a (part-time?) vegetarian, black beans would be a great source of protein for you! Kidney beans, garbanzo beans, etc... Beans are a great food! And like Dave said, calories are only part of the equation. It isn't like a donut, kwim?

    Black beans are so good for you! Think about it, fiber, protein, vitamins and antioxidants all in one place. What could be better?
