ok, I am curious about this. 4 days a week I have a busy hard working stocking job where I walk miles, pick up heavy things often and pull heavy pallets throught the night and I have 3 days a week off where I am not very active. computer use walk dog do a few chores like laundry and such so I figure that is sedentary. What sounds like my avererage? i figure light activity but am I wrong? Should I mark it as sedentary because of my weekends?

lightly active should be fine. you get used to those working days, and your three days off counter it. on your days off you are still being active with household chores, so no need to add those as "exercise."

I think you're safe with "lightly active". I myself have a sit-down job but I'm up many times a day to get things from the printer, but I also try to work out 6 days a week for 45 minutes a day. I put myself down as "lightly active" too.

The thing is, the more "active" you report yourself, the more calories you're allowed to consume. But if you're not burning those calories through activity, you're defeating the purpose.

I found this calculator to be of some help, maybe it will help you too:

Based on the numbers I entered for me, I would need 3052 calories a day just for maintenance, and 1976 for extreme fat loss. I tend to consume around 2000 depending on the stressors in my life. As a result I seem to lose around 2 pounds a week.
