I'm so frustrated. I haven't lost any weight in over three weeks! I hate plateus. (spell) How do you guys get past this dilemma?

Your body is probably used to your exercise regiment and/or your calorie goals are from when you are heavier. Lighter people have different goals (i think). Try changing up your routine (ex- if you jog and lift weights, try swimming/fat burning yoga or pilates or something.0

For me it usually helps to increase my exercise. More intense workouts tend to boost my metabolism.0

I didn't give up..I wanted to, but didn't. I had a three week plateau also, but on the fourth week...I lost 4 pounds! Really? I think stepped on the scale three times in a row to make sure...But, it was right...four pounds.. Just don't give up...0

I try switching things up and that usually helps. Switch up my meals (dinner for lunch and lunch for dinner) switching the calories I eat each day while keeping the weekly total the same. 1000 one day 1500 the next 1200 the next 1600 ... etc. I also try to switch up my exercise routine a little. Keep the body guessing.0

Hi Tcpowell25, if you don't mind me asking, are you tracking your body fat percentage? Just because you aren't losing scale weight, it doesn't mean you aren't losing pounds of fat. Fat loss and scale weight loss are two different things.0 -
Thanks guys. Your advice is great. I've tried switching things up, but obviously I need to do more adjusting. Thanks again.0

You know what? I haven't been checking on my fat loss. I've only been checking my weight. Thanks for the advice! Now, how do I check my fat, LOL?0 -
I spend a lot of time reminding myself that weight maintenance is my second most important goal, and that I am achieving that. Without that, I would be gaining. So to me it's an important victory to be able to maintain. Your body just needs to rest and recalibrate. I actually try to take a couple weeks and eat a little more, rest a little more, and then hit it harder after a few weeks, even a month. Hope that helps you see it as a positive thing :-)0

Yes it did...maybe I do need a break. I just feel like I'm trying my best and nothing is happening. Thanks for the inspiration!0 -

This whole month has been a waiting game for me. I just need to learn to be more patient!0 -
Yes, all of us need patience. Remember...we are in it for life. Lose, or don't lose, just enjoy your new ways of eating and exercising and be healthy.:drinker: We are all a success story!0
