First of all, you don't need to drink water. You're body will extract water from numerous other liquids and some foods. (Milk, tea, coffee, some fruits).
http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/drinking-enough-water-topic-overview
An extract from that article:Do you have to drink only water to stay hydrated?
All liquids help you stay hydrated. Water is usually the best choice, because it’s free (if you’re drinking tap water) and has no sugar or calories. But most healthy people can get enough fluid through the beverages they consume every day. These can include water, fruit juices, coffee, sodas, iced tea, and other drinks.
Experts say that it's not true that beverages that have caffeine-such as coffee, tea, and cola drinks-always dehydrate you. Healthy people who consume moderate amounts of caffeine don't lose more fluid than people who don't have any caffeine.1 A moderate amount of caffeine is about 200 to 300 milligrams a day. That's about two to four 8-ounce cups of coffee.
And yes, an average mug is basically a cup (236 - 250mls).0 -
I know this is strange but I leave a glass upstairs and everytime I go up into the bathroom I drink a glass of water. When Im at work I drink loads as we have a water machine. When Im at home I forget. But drinking a glass of water this way I always remember to drink more whilst at home.0

I have kidney issues, so most arguments against water consumption are for healthy people, but my nephrologist says that no matter how much people deny it, clear water is necessary, and more than most people think. Drink your water.0

I try very hard to drink 8 cups of water but I, too, don't really like drinking lots of water. It is better for me when I drink it at very cold temperatures and in pint amounts (2 cup increments in each). That is four servings per day. I drink it with meals which only leaves one time during the day I have to fit in that extra pint. BUT, I also do drink unsweetened tea, my favorite sodas, and the occasional sweet tea. These do contain water so if I don't hit that eight cup goal at least I've consumed other water-containing liquids.0

what i do is drink out of a big 32 oz cup, nothing but water all day and that seems to work fine
Drink 2-3 of those and you should be set
If it's the taste of water you guys don't like, don't worry in time that goes away and you'll like it more than soda0 -
Why on earth do you think you HAVE to drink 8 cups of water a day?
The average person need to consume 8 cups of fluid. Be it tea, coffee, juice, soda, fruit, veg, etc.0
