Hi, I'm Renee and I love chocolate! Actually there are a lot of sweets that are my obsession and that's why I'm where I'm at today...Fat! I was always a little chunk through middle and high school...only when I got out of school and started Karate did I thin out! Then...got married, had kids, got divorced, started college...Ok stress is HIGH!!! So, I'm starting Nursing school in the fall at the young age of 37 and the weight needs to come OFF! I'm also a smoker who has been fighting for years to quit the habit...hopefully I can quit smoking, not become a cow, and feel a whole lot better!

Welcome Renee! I'm from Ohio too! Congratulations on your decision to get healthy and fit as well as your decision to go back to school! You'll find a lot of friendly people here who have a lot of great information to share. It's amazing how you can struggle with something your whole life and then find something that makes that struggle SOOO easy to overcome....
I've struggled for years to even lose a pound and lost 10 pounds in my first week here at MFP!

Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off!
Also, drink lots of water, that seems to help alot too. :drinker:
You can also quit smoking too! I did that several years ago with the help of the drug Zyban. It was expensive, but, it worked!

Thank you all!!! I just logged what I ate today and found out I have only 300 calories left till I reach my limit! HOLY CRAP! lol Ummm, Yeah, I need to make better choices! I feel very welcome here...that means a lot! Happy weight loss to everyone!0

Renee....try logging your foods BEFORE you eat them. This has really helped me make better choices & stay within my calorie range. :flowerforyou:0
