So im not sure how many calories im meant to be having daily and if im having fat too much chocolate?
I was recovering from an eating disorder and had to have high protein high fat diet to increase my bmi, but now im at a healthy weight and healthy bmi again i want the weigh to level off. i had increased my calories to 1600-2000 a day and gained loads, and now im not as active but eating just as much.
ive joined myfitnesspal to try and helpmake sure i eat enough initially and dont undereat but now everyday i find im eating far too much for my size. my resting bmr is 1000calories, so on bed days (like the last few days ive been unwell and been in bed) is this what i should be aiming to have?
I generally eat really well, exept recently ive been eating ALOT of chocolate and this is my major downfall and major contribution to daily calories and fat. I love 90% dark chocolate but a serving has 22g fat! thankfully it only has 3g sugar though but very fat laden.
Today i just wanted fat foods al day: scrambed eggs and chicken, followed by big glass of milk, ive had broccolli cream soup and cheese salad today and then a couple of dark suares of chocolate..then this afternoon i gave in to sugar which i try and restrict always and had sugary yogurt and a tube of smarties. It may not sound alot here but it is and Im already at my daily limit for calories and way over recomended for fat and sugar.
I could really do with ome advice, should i cut out sugar all together? as i know its bad for you. should i have only tiny bits of dark chocolate a day intead of two-four squares?
in fell really lost and really need some motivation/ help please! any advice would be really really appreciated!

STOP this way of thinking ! You need a little of everything in your diet ... 3oz of dark chocolate is fine every day, matter of fact it is very healthy for you and recommended. People don't realize there are different types of FAT and some is very HEALTHY for you. Add me as a friend ... I can be your inspiration and you can view my daily diary with a code. Food is meant to be enjoyed ... not abused. If you struggle with right and wrong ... you need information, ALOT of it ! Don't ever give up ... just give in to ... knowledge !0

Your kidding right... So she should stop eating fruit(which is healthy and has sugar) and veggies(again healthy and has sugar).. I think not.
Most people find that the sugar limits on these things are way too low.. and there is a difference in the sugar that you eat. Sugar that comes from processed foods(IE added sugar) is going to be worse for you then sugar that comes from natural sources(fruit, veggies, lean meats). If most of your sugar is coming from natural sources, I wouldn't worry too much. I eat yogurt everyday pretty much and it hasn't had an adverse affect yet.. in fact, it helps keep me full and keep my digestive system running normally.0 -
You mentioned recovering from an eating disorder. Do you have access to a nutritionist/dietician through your physician? It sounds like you would benefit from more education about nutrition to help you learn to make the best choices for your health.0

firstly yeah the majority of my sugar is natural (i have alot of natural probitic greek yogurt, either 0% fat or 2%), and milk so lactose. I eat a variety of vegetables too. I sometimes eat fruit, i used to eat more but im scarred about the sugar content, so its the odd treat of frit now instead. Apart from mature cheese i dont eat processed foods, and its lean meat i have.
the other source of sugar that i have had recntly though is dark chocolate, the kind with small ingredients list (cocoa, cocoa butter, honey or sugar) depending on the make.
i dont have a dietition or nuitrionist as i moved house and not admitted to anyone here about my ed. never admited to family or friends either.
i dont feel thin enough to bring it up now and its a small village doctors so dont want hem knowing. thats why im trying to use the internet, read lots of articles for advice.0 -

When i said STOP eating all sugar i perhaps wrongly assumed people understood i meant ALL REFINED sugars. Obviously our bodies can handle some sugar from fruits but if you are attempting to LOSE weight i.e. FAT ten you must restrict sugars from starchy vegetables and grains as well as high glycemic index fruits. NEVER eat bananas, grapes or cherries UNTIL you are on consolidation phase of journey! Any questions? you have my help! best wishes ! you can do this!0
